Works well!
Works well! Definitely makes it nice to mount a ceiling fan at the peak!

Perfect Fit
Did exactly what I needed. Mounted Big Ass Fan to a 14ft vaulted ceiling. Absolutely no issue.

Better then expected.
I installed this in a room with a slightly sloped (probably about 140 degree angle) ceiling. The room had wood paneling in it which I am replacing with drywall and is already wired for a ceiling fan/light.I wasn't sure If I should get this model or FBX900 (also available on Amazon). I started with this one, and am glad I did because this one was easier to install in a ceiling that already had all the insulation in. The previous owner had created a large empty box hanging from the rafters using 2x4s and paneling and had the light fixture mounted to that. I pried all the 2x4s down prior to installing this.It comes with a page of instructions. The instructions recommend you use the 2 included long screws, put a short 2x4 on the back of it and screw the screws into it, then nail or screw the 2x4 onto a rafter. (making a triangle with the rafters and the 2x4). in my case the ceiling was not sloped very much, and the insulation would've made this difficult, so I opted to screw it directly into the rafters. I used a drill to pre-drill the holes, and a nut driver (which allows you to attach a socket to your drill) to drill the screws. The nut driver made installation much faster then a screwdriver or socket wrench(with no risk of stripping the screw). The screws are long, and it seems to be firmly attached to the ceiling. Now that this is up, I'm ready to install the drywall. (which should be much easier and look much cleaner with this box then it would have been trying to put drywall over and around the old box)

Good quality, seemed like a good overall value
I bought this to install a ceiling fan into existing construction. my application was a cathedral ceiling with no attic above. It obviously isn’t made for that but I had no real issues after I cut away some existing drywall. The biggest issue I did have was my install ended up being slightly off center but I was clearly free-styling and didn’t even know the angle of my ceiling so I’m willing to accept the blame and to be honest it’s hardly noticeable.Overall I was happy to find this and feel that it was a great off the shelf solution to adding a ceiling fan to my existing cathedral ceiling. Keep in mind if you are dealing with old work and don’t have attic access you will need to do some drywall work but it isn’t a big deal to use this in existing

Meant for install before drywall, can be surface mounted after...
Not an approved installation, but I was able to trim the angled ends of this to fit tight to the peak of our great room ceiling, surface mount it by lagging it into the beam. I cut an small rectangle in one end before installing, and brought my wire across from another ceiling box, using surface mount channel. I could then complete an install of a ceiling fan.It is plenty sturdy, with holes that can be utilized for screwing it in place. I hope I get to use it as intended at some future date!

Perfect solution!
This product worked well after I made some modifications to it. My ceiling was already finished. It was very tedious to make sure that I cut an appropriately sized hole in the Sheetrock. The block is perfectly square which made it easier. If it came with some sort of a template it would have made life a little easier. The back side that is not visible is completely open. I was worried about that and didn’t see any pics or info to describe how it was. Being completely open was exactly what I needed so you can have it sit flush with the ceiling. Now my ceiling had a main girder beam running straight across the peak. Because of this I had to cut the triangle points down so I could “bury” the box into the Sheetrock. This was a pain to do. I basically made a series of cuts and initially cut off less than I needed because I didn’t want to come up short. Once it was installed, it was relatively level. All in all, it is the perfect solution for a peaked ceiling.

Exactly what I needed
Product was exactly what I needed to finish my fan/light install in my master bedroom. The room was never set up for overhead lighting when it was built back in the early 90’s. Good ol light switch to turn on outlets for lamps set up. So with the help of my electrician father we intercepted the first outlet inline and bypassed the outlets on a switch and ran the switch signal up the wall to the ceiling. We have vaulted ceilings in our room so there is no attic entrance. We were able to mount a box to the roof structure and then used this box to make our finished mount to the sheet rock. Had to trim it down with a contour gauge and a cut off tool but it mounted right up to the electrical box and to the ceiling sheet rock. We just caulked the seems and painted to match. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Very thankful I found this box!

Works best with new construction
I used this product to mount a fan in the center of cieling. Fan ha previously been mounted to the side. Had to trim the box to match the slope of the cieling since I didn't want to cut as nd patch textured dry wall.
