Colorescience Brush-On Sunscreen Mineral Powder for Sensitive Skin

My esthetician introduced me to this product and I am so glad she did! This is the best face sunscreen, not to mention how easy it is to apply. Let me start by saying one negative of this product, I have had multiple brushes that do not work and do not release the powder, however Amazon and this company has always been amazing with returns for a defective item. On a new brush, make sure you turn it upside down and tap the bottom of the product three times to get the powder started. It is sometimes hard to see if the powder is coming out (if you pick a light color that is similar to the brush color itself) so here’s a tip: hold it brush side up where there is good lighting and give the brush a few flicks and you can see the powder! I always have success this way when using a new brush.One of my favorite things about this product is it has Zinc! Other cream based sunscreens that have zinc are so thick and leave your face white. I live in Florida and use this sunscreen on a daily basis. I also always buy this 3 pack because I keep one in my car, purse , and vanity for easy application. I also apply this product when going out at night as a setting powder for my regular foundation for a smooth finish and for extra protection from UV rays. This product provides great coverage even from the sun at the beach. As advised on the package, you should apply every 80 min when outside/ in water and I have used this at the beach/ pool without any burning not to mention how quick it is to re apply making it a breeze!!! This product is a must in so many ways!!!

Fav sunscreen tinted powder. Not thick at all, Doesn’t crease or dry face out. Feels smooth and comfortable. Can layer it multiple times a day and it’s lovely. Tint adds coverage and I don’t wear foundation.

My dermatologist recommended this after I had a procedure on my face. The skin medication was necessary but adding sunscreen wasn’t working for me. This powder is great, lightweight, and I reapply it as my dermatologist recommended because I can just brush it on. It is expensive, but i don’t have to use much.

Been using this for years. Works well for my combination, pimple prone skin and protects it from the sun. Adds a nice luminosity to the complexion and does cover up some flaws. It is sheer, so if you have something to conceal I suggest you use a good concealer as this won't cover everything. When I have asian glow it does seem to restore me from beet red to a more pink-tinged neutral color. The darker colors are nice because you can use them to contour. The light colors help you highlight. The effect is very natural so it looks like you are wearing no makeup. It is also water resistant for 80 minutes which is important to me because I swim. You do need to use makeup remover to remove this due to its water resistance. Cleanser alone won't be enough. Use a cleansing oil 1st.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Update: Years after writing this review I'm STILL using this product as my everyday makeup/sunscreen and love how it fits so well into my 5 minute makeup routine. People are so used to me wearing this product that when I'm not wearing it people tell me I look tired and not my usual radiant self (I suppose some things stay the same). I am an avid hiker and this has helped give me the sun protection I need now that I am more serious about protecting my skin. It does take a while to activate a new brush, but once it's activated it works very well. I just start swirling the new brush on some tissue paper, watch some youtube videos while doing this and keep going till I can actually see the color. I also wouldn't recommend applying it on sweaty, greasy, just-lotioned/oiled skin as it will make the bristles of the brush less effective. If you are worried about keeping the brush clean I recommend just pouring out the powder and then applying with another brush or only use it right after your last step of your skincare routine, but only after letting your lotions/oils/serums dry first. I've been wearing tan in the summer and medium in the winter. If I have leftover tan in the winter, then I can use that as a light bronzer for some contour.

So ... am an RN & have used many complicated medical devices over the years but this thing is simply awful! VERY poorly designed. Read many prior reviews indicating tapping the cylinder to activate product, even doing so several minutes. Nothing, and I mean nothing, released the contents into the brush. Re-read the directions times following exactly and same result - nothing. This may be a fabulous product - which I was excited to use - but of what value is a great product w/deplorable delivery system?! Ridiculously expensive, too, which, had it worked may have been worth the price. Returned pronto! Don't waste your money on this!!

This sunscreen is the best! When sunscreens sting my eyes my day is ruined. Not colorscience, this sunscreen goes on with great coverage stays put through a heavy sweat session outdoors and does its job! My entire family has worn the “tickle” sunscreen for years. We fish and boat, run triathlons, walk the dogs in the humid southern weather, all without a sunburn. I highly recommend this sunscreen.

I'd used this product manybyears ago when it first came into the market of skin care from my dermatologist at the time...and I liked it. Now; years later - I am not so impressed. Part of the appeal was the ease of application; carry in your purse for touch-ups - etc. - but; I cannot actually achieve coverage with this new applicator. Not sure what's changed but now you have to return the cap to the brush & pound the applicator on your palm (again and again) in order to get powder into brush - I can see the powder inside the brush and apply 'as directed' but I swear I see very little actual powder and poor coverage - disappointed.

Expensive but worth it. This is the only mineral powder that I've tried that actually works as advertised. It's great that it's not oily or greasy, no breakouts!
