Excellent for Grinding Pet Nails Too
I use this tool to grind my dog's nails. It is much cheaper to buy a regular dremel or rotary tool than a specialty "pet" dremel, not to mention these last a whole lot longer and work ten times better. Though I wish this dremel was a bit quieter so that my dogs wouldn't freak out due to the noise, it does work great for why I bought it otherwise. The different bits can be changed very easily, though the interchangeable grinding papers do not stay on the bits. They seem to be a bit too big for the bit, as the grinding paper slides off slowly as you use it, causing you to have to stop and adjust it several times. The speed is also satisfactory, if I want it to go slow there's an option for that, if I want it to go super fast I can do that too. Also, the main reason why I bought this specific tool and perhaps a very obvious feature, this dremel is wired! I absolutely hate battery-run or rechargeable dremels/tools. They don't last and half of the time they die 10 minutes into being used because I only use it every once in a while, and by the time I use it again, the battery has drained. Then I either half to wait 4 hours for it to recharge or replace the batteries, which I almost never have any good batteries around. The wire is adequately long too. Not incredibly long so that you get tangled up in the cord, but not so short that you can't use it without an extension cord. I very much enjoy this product and I hope that it lasts as long as it looks like it'll last!

Poor quality bits and attachments, but worth the price when using third party bits.
I've not used the routing bits yet, but thought I'd buy this for a few small wood projects. I used the cutting disks on a ¼" wooden dowel and went thru 7 (trying to find a comfortable speed) and still didn't cut through because when I put the 8th one on, after letting it cool down, I cranked up the variable speed control, and the entire bit bent downward by 20 to 30° leaving it at 140⁰ to 150⁰ angle, giving it a dangerous and sporadic wobble without even touching the cutting wheel to anything yet. I took the bit out of the chuck and easily bent it back into place immediately seeing where the stress point was, knowing any use with it at that point will snap it, so I threw it away to make sure I never used that bit again.Overall, it's a bit bulkier and has a little more heft than the Dremel brand. I seems to do just fine with better quality attachments and bits, so I would say it's worth the price, but I will recommend you always wear safety glasses, and buy a shield attachment if you plan on using the original bits and cutting wheels so you're not sending a a shard of the cutting wheels through your body somewhere if your bit ends up bending like mine did.

Surprisingly good value!
When my father asked for this rotary tool as a gift, I was reluctant to purchase it. As a long-time dremel owner, I suggested he go that route. He stuck to his desire for the WEN, and I have to say I'm glad he did. The WEN tool is much sturdier than I thought it would be, and felt heavier duty than the dremel I had bought for significantly more years ago. I just seems to be a nice, rugged little tool. Something with a little heft that you feel like you can toss in your toolbox. Not that I don't still love my dremel, but I was impressed with the WEN overall given the price point. My favorite feature is the separate ON-OFF switch and speed controls. My father's old dremel was a combo on-off/speed (low/high) switch. The switch was always a little touchy, and a misplaced hand movement or bump could knock the dremel into a different speed (or off completely). The WEN has a solid toggle for on-off and a "dial" like switch for variable speeds (numerous speeds rather than just high and low). Overall this was a big plus, even though you would think it would be minor.I've seen several reviewers state that they had trouble with the button breaking or getting stuck. To date we've had no issue, but we'll keep an eye out due to the reviews. I advised my father to be gentle with that portion, and with that in mind he's had no problems.Thumbs up for value so far!

Loving this and it does all I need and more for a bargain
If you are looking for a replacement fora tool that goes by a well-known name, I believe you have it here. I made the mistake of buying something similar from a cheap tool store and it would bog down when trying to do almost anything...no power at all. This rectified the situation and goes so fast I have to make sure that I am extra cautious. I got a little spoiled (?) by the weak version of a different brand because that wasn't throwing shavings or items anywhere...This DEFINITELY will!!I got the version without the flex shaft (I wanted this to trim 223 brass..in which case you should get some metal cutting wheels). This is perfect and is way strong enough to do whatever I need. Just be careful, wear safety glasses and stay safe. This did come with a dearth of attachments but for the motor that is in this thing, it is a beyond good trade-off since most will probably go get their own anyway. For less than 17 bucks with Prime, I cannot complain though. It is sooo much cheaper than the brand name version that I can afford to buy the specific ones I want without worrying about breaking the bank. This is pretty awesome for the price and if it does not break or wear out prematurely, it will remain a hearty 5 stars! One question though...kind of funny but it goes to level 6 for the fastest setting. Funny...like how some tools go to 11. haha I'll still take it!
