I pointed it at the floor and gradually made the necessary adjustments, you have to allow the light on the back of the unit to go off, make an adjustment, then move it towards the floor until the light goes on, rinse/repeat. If you just turn the screw it will not turn the indicator LED off. You need a pull up resistor on the output but no biggie.
