Pretty good book. Better than most Step 2 CK books out there.
I'm quite baffled about the bad reviews here. Maybe it's because I'm an IMG (though American) and I know it's useless to try and learn every thing in medicine for one exam. Dr. Fischer, while being a bit annoying during his video lectures truly nails the important details in this book. Yeah, not much of an improvement over the 2nd edition, but it really does appeal much better to the eye as well as provide a few new bits of information.I'm using this book while also reading step up to step 2 and USMLE step 2 secrets as well as crush the boards though crush the boards and step 2 secrets are basically the same book. Dr. Fischer writes clearly, concisely and straight to the point. He takes some of the most difficult concepts and breaks it down in a way that you'll stupid for never understanding it in the first place I'd personally recommend this to every thing. The only gripe I have is the length of the book though I shouldn't care because it only means there's more information in the book.

Great review book that focuses on key association and test strategy
Like any other book, whether you like it or not will depend on your learning style. It is definitely a "review" book so look elsewhere if you still need to cover significant gaps in knowledge. If you have an average/decent foundation of knowledge and are looking for a comprehensive REVIEW of important associations and testing tips, this is the book for you. If you rely on "mnemonics," key details and commonly shared associations to learn such as what you get with First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 2015, you may not like this book as well as others. If you like to rely on "pattern recognition," understanding mechanisms, and "analysis of associations among raw data" to learn you will likely prefer this book over others. If you like to learn information in sequence, from start to finish, this book may seem like it skips things and "jumps around from topic to topic," so you may not like it. I suspect this is where some of the negative reviews come from. It's an excellent book if it meets the needs of your learning preference. This book reminds me of the infamous Goiljan Kaplan Lectures and Goljan's Rapid Review Pathology: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access, 4e. If the way information was presented in those resonated with your learning style, this book is closer to those in the way information is presented. Good luck!

Need to pass, then here it is at last
This book is a great addition to the set. Conrad has done a great job of putting a lot of hard information into simple form. This also goes well with the Kaplan if you are taking that test prep course. Conrad is the best in this book. The book is very good with many tips on how to think and how to exclude wrong answers. Very straight forward compared to other step 2 prep. I used it after I read First Aid step 2 ck. Both are good but I prefer this one because it is more exam oriented. This book is very logical in its thinking, has lots of tips for guidance on steps needed to be taken. It also helped me do well on my exam as well.I bought this book and also used uworld to practice. I do feel like there is a lot missing still on which I had to go to first aid to supplement.

Best review book I have seen yet!
I got this book to help me prepare for step 2 CK. I have not taken the exam yet, so my review does not encompass how well this book preps your for the USMLE; however, the book is definitely of high quality IMHO. First of all it is very easy to read. The easiest of all step 2 prep books (Yes, I have seen most if not all!). It is the only book that directly tells you how to answer questions on the board, rather than just give you a bunch of factoids. But the part that impressed me the most was how consistent this book is with usmleworld! I guess there is no doubt that usmleworld is the best Q bank out there, and this book seems to encompass the points in UW. Almost as if the author wrote the book after reviewing the contents of UW ( which to me is fine even if he did!). I am very optimistic about this book, and I am planning to pair it with Crush step 2 or secrets for a winning combo.

Good last minute read.
Missing lots of important topics...not information, but entire topics/diseases all together. The Step 3 book is also missing the same info...so can't rely on that to fill in the blanks. Step-up is better...better/more diagrams, algorithms, charts, etc. I wish I started with that, but all my notes are written in here now...too late. Also the kindle book doesn't have page numbers...which I need because of the way I study with uworld questions (taking notes onto relevant page(s))...I guess that's more of a kindle issue.

Start with this book early!
Master the Boards USMLE for Step 2 CK is definitely one of the best resources I have been using to study for the Step 2 CK. It gives you a basic understanding of what the exam is looking for and answers some of the typical next best step, diagnosis and treatment questions. I got mine whole punched and just add more information to it as I go through clinicals and other resources that may be helpful along with this book. I love Conrad Fischer! He is really awesome and really tries to give you a skeleton model to build on using your clinical experience. It is definitely a must have for every student getting ready to take Step 2 CK. Start with this book early!
