Great solution for those with broken PVC hinges
I searched high and low for replacements for my old PVC hinges that cracked and couldn't find them (I read elsewhere that they were all discontinued for some strange reason). Once I found these I figured I'd give them a shot and am glad I did.Super easy install and nice and sturdy, great value for the price. I got two sets, one was for an all plastic gutter which I trimmed and mounted using small pilot holes, the other was for an aluminum extension onto a PVC hinge (I saw someone else in these comments use the hinge so I did the same), both have worked great for the past 3 massive rain storms we had.

Worked as it should
Was fairly easy to install, only problem i had was that i was using a long piece of gutter and was cutting it to fit the hinge, on my first try i did not have a big enough lip on the bottom (so when it was folded down the up right was not hitting the downspout part) but was able to cut more off the top (where hinge mounts) and get it to work, it lifts up easily and works as it should, overall i and happy with the product. My downspout part is lengthy so i use a bungee cord and tie it to the upright when i need it up as it doesn't really stay up on its own but that is not really a problem for me

Installs easily, works well
I finally had the time to install the Zip Hinge. It went on quickly, as promised. Just make sure you have the right size socket drive, because there is no screwdriver slots. There is a small gap on the top of the hinge where twigs or leaves could fall in and block the water flow, so you'll need to check it once in a while if there are trees in the area. I understand that it would be impractical to offer the hinge in all the possible colors that you can get downspouts in, but it would be nice to have black available. That would take care of most dark color situations. I'll have to hit this with black spray paint at some point to match my leaders. Not a problem, but would be more convenient.

Worked well as advertised
My old plastic hinge broke by sun damage. It is not longer available so I bought Zip Hinge. Well made and did the job just fine, but a little pricey. I used the old angle piece to get the new piece closer to the downspout. It worked fine with Zip Hinge. This angle piece is available at Home Depot and Lowe's (and probably other places) now. Be sure to buy the right one. Some comments have been made that the vinyl parts are not strong enough. Mine seems strong enough with the enclosed screws. If you are concerned you could use pop rivets. The "clamp" is also available at the same places. All in all a good purchase.

INDESTRUCTABLE!!! LONG LASTING!!
ZIP HINGEThis product is one of a kind and it can't be found at the local hardware or big box stores. My husband has used a plastic version of this in the past. After a few years in the sun? One good bump by a human or Greyhound, and they break. This zip hinge only requires a carpenters square, tin snips, and a nut driver for the screws. Tom purchased a new elbow and piece of downspout to start over with all completely new products. This added another $12 or so to the project cost. Installing the zip hinge, with the screws included, is about a fifteen minute job once you cut the end of the downspout at a 45 degree angle. After that is completed, the job is fast and easy. Be sure to wear gloves, as this stuff can be sharp. This is a really strong quality product that should hold up even if you step on the downspout. If you do, replacement will be easy. Instructions and a good video are available on the Internet. The video shows you exactly how to install. An instruction sheet is not included with the zip hinge. My husband highly recommends this product.Thank you.

Great idea, doesn’t hold up over time.
Had to order replacements as some of the Zip Hinges installed 2 years ago fell apart. The aluminum is subject to deformation each time they are moved. One may have been damaged after being tripped over - so I’ll own that. But the others failed after normal use.

These really work across our side walks
The kids even move them up and back when they use their riding toys.

Holding up nicely. Also easy to install.
The hinge is holding up nicely after 1 year. It's very easy to install.

Works great.
I like that it works great. You do need to trim your downspout to fit to whatever angle it will continue at.The hinge is a bit tight, maybe a drip of oil would help.

Underwhelmed
Really not impressed with this product for a variety of reasons. It comes with virtually no packaging, presentation or documentation. It comes in a clear bag with cardboard tabbed around it with a sticker telling them to visit their website for installation instructions. So the presentation leaves a lot to be desired. However, moving past the poor packaging and actually opening it up you`re greeted with some fairly low end manufactured aluminum hinges that are too tight to actually function. Exerting a fair amount of pressure only had the hinges rotate about 10% for either, and any more force was sure to bend and break them. I was able to solve the issue with a little drop of oil on both, and now they work fine, and installation wasn`t too difficult but did require the use of tin snipes. Etc. and it does work, but I`m not very impressed and they do not appear to be any better or any more durable than the plastic hinge joint you can typically get for drain spouts. I was buying this to replace one of those that someone stepped on, but can`t say that this thing is really any more durable. It`s just as likely to bend and break, as a plastic hinge except those typically fall off before they actually break and this one will just get bent up. It works, but doesn`t deserve more than 3 out of 5 stars, and I`m tempted to giving it 2/5 because of the poor packaging, lack of documentation, and hinges that were non-functional on deliver without the addition of some oil, but was able to sort all that and it does work hence 3/5.

Extremely tight when received -SPRAY LOCK DE-ICER
SPRAY LOCK DE-ICER to loosen hinges.Do not waste time struggling to get them loose just get some Lock De-Icer ahead and spray. Worked immediately and now is very loose and easy to move. The little clip is to be attached higher on the downspout and swivels to hold the leg in place when raised.PRINT OFF INSTRUCTION PAGE posted along with the hinges in the advertising. They are clear & have pictures.Got 2x hinges & screws but paid waaay tooo much. over $30cdn.The seller might want to add suggestions in the ad to use Lock De-Icer on the hinges to loosen them up when arrives.

Hinge was seized solid
I was pretty skeptical due to the price, quality etc... I watched a video where the guy claims and shows it can be installed in 1 minute. Would have liked to have seen that on this one. One side of the hinge was so tight I thought someone had put a spot weld on it. Took me 10 minutes to clamp it snugly in the vise, spray penetration oil on it and so slow and gently move it back and forth just to get it to start moving. For such an easy design and such a ridiculous price one would think a no brainer for a quality item. It works well when installed but be prepared for this possible nonsense.
