Great for light or heavy use.
Im a big fan of New Balance shoes, almost all my running/walking shoes are NB's so naturally I am a little biased. However, these shoes fit and feel great no matter what terrain you are commuting on. The spiked soles are something to get used to but it really is a visual thought rather than a performance issue, just a little different. They are comfortable for short and long runs or walks. I used them on a family trip to Tokyo and we walked everywhere! Great shoe and price.

I'm happy...
I like the "minimal" style but not a barefoot trail person. This shoe is light but not too light, like the other "minimal" shoes. So there is some actual shoe to this shoe. The sole is what sold me. It's a great light-wieght gripping shoe.ONE THING; needs a arch liner. I put in a doctor scholls gel insert. I'm happy.

Great for Golf!
The New Balance MT00 Minimus Trail Running Shoe is my favorite GOLF shoe.I own three more pairs of shoes made for golf by Adidas, Nike and New Balance. The first two have removable cleats, and New Balance golf NBG1002 has 6 milimeter hexagonal rubber nipples. In these three, I sometimes slip in my 90 mph swing, especially in wet grass.MT00 has large, soft cleats. They provide the best ground torsional resistance and grip around the golf course. They do not accumulate mud or debris. The shoes are light weight and the most comfortable for walking on grass and on hard surface. They fit my 8 - 4E foot size perfectly. The MT00 is described as a Trail shoe, so I’m not certain how they’ll hold up under golf’s torsion; they do, however, look stronger than the NB Golf Shoe.A slightly wider heel (on this and the golf shoe) would be a stability improvement. I’d buy them again for golf.

This new balance minimus does not disappoint!!!
I love these kicks!!I am a huge fan of new balance minimus shoes. However winter time in New Englandis a beast and the usual minimus shoes are too low to the snow-covered ground. This is where the shoe is awesome becauseI have the zero dropped feel on top of a rugged platform the tread on the shoes is amazing and keep me in the bottom of my jeans separated from the elements. This sneaker is a keeper.

Not that minimus and not that comfortable
I'm not a hardcore runner, but I was looking for a minimalist trail shoe for occasional run and light backpacking. So I've grabbed NB MT00, Vivobarefoot Trail Freak and Innov8 235 to try on. Keep in mind that I didn't do a real run in them, but only a short game of tag with my kids at home.MT00s were the most expensive and at the same time the most disappointing of the bunch.1) Bad fit: I've tried both D and 4E sizes. I don't have wide feet but I couldn't get into D. 4E were much better in the mid-foot, but the toe-box is angled too sharp and unpleasantly squished my toes even in half size bigger shoe.Ankle cup is too high and cuts into your skin.2) Bad finish: I had several MT00s on hands and insoles were very sloppy in all of them. I was also not very happy with inaccurate stitches inside. I realize that colors are a personal preference, but I have to say they look much more goofy in real life then on pictures.3) No ground feel: The sole is way to thick and cushy to provide any good ground feel. Granted I only run over a few toys, but compared to other models, they've been like your typical sneakers. The only good thing I can say about these shoes is the sticky rubber on soles. It really grabs the surface like a champ. Everything else was bad on many levels.P.S. as result I've ended up with the pair of 235s. Vivobarefoot's were the close second, the slip-on design while extremely comfortable is a bit sloppy.

NOT a replacement for the original MT00.
I bought these hoping that they would be similar to the MT00(version 1) which I own and LOVE.This shoe is not similar in any way. Where the MT00 v1 was roomy, thin-soled, exceptionally light, and built for trail racing/mud-running, this shoe is narrow in the toe box(does not fit like any NB 4E I've owned), clunky, and has plenty of cloth/filler that will get wet and heavy at the first puddle. This is a minimalist shoe only in that it is zero-drop.If you run forefoot/midfoot strike and have a 4E foot this will not likely accomodate your toes on striking. Some might like this shoe, but I'll keep trolling eBay for another pair of MT00 v1, the only minimalist shoe I've ever loved...

Beautiful shoe, runs more narrow than other Minimus branded shoes.
I just got these yesterday, so this will be a first impressions type of review. First thing to know, these things are slick looking, lots of nice details, high looking build quality. They're also really light; not as light as my m3090s or m3090v2s, but still surprisingly light for their appearance. Most of the weight seems to come from the outsole, which is super lugged, and amazingly grippy. I'm pretty sure I could run up a wall in these things if I wanted to. I just noticed another reviewer made a similar remark, oh well, just shows how much grab these shoes have. It should be noted that these shoes run narrow, there's noticeably less space in these than any other 4e shoes I've had from New Balance, these being my fifth total and third Minimus. I also have reservations about wearing these without socks, they feel like they'll rub poorly in a few places. I'll try to update in a couple weeks after I have a few more miles running in these things; I just moved up to the mountains so they'll get some real trail experience.
