When you pop a battery in it displays 0000 mAh, then 0001 mAh, etc. When the battery is done charging the display shows 0xxx mAh - FULL - 0xxx mAh - FULL switching between the two. You are correct that the VC2 Plus does not have the mAh reading. From a review for the VC2 Plus: "The only reason it only earned 4 stars is that it does not have a very useful feature that the plain old VC2 has, giving the mAh rating after charging a discharged battery. But that’s because it can accurately measure the charge on the battery and only charges till full. I’ve used this a lot over the past several weeks. I sometimes need to interrupt the charge as I use it in my car and unplug everything when I get to a job site. I then plug it back in and it starts charging but it won’t over-charge. It will charge until battery is full. I like the detailed display and the fact that it’s automatic. It’s always charged on the .5amp highest setting and charges my 18650 or whatever size batteries within a couples hours is so from near empty. I have a lot of flashlights working in dark spaces and use it a lot to keep recharging my large lithium batteries.
