To start out with, this is not your big popper you see at the movie theaters so remember that...... This was easy to setup right out of the box.. it is self stirring and pops almost all the kernels, more that you get with microwave.....2 easy steps, turn on heater and stirrer to heat up for a minute or two, put oil and popcorn in kettle.... that's it....the kettle has two lids that open up as the popcorn comes out and falls to a plastic pan below the kettle...... as soon as you hear the popcorn stop popping, turn off heater and stirrer....this has a handle for tipping the kettle.... this has a light that acts also to keep popcorn warm, not sure about that one..... each batch is big enough for one person so if you have more people you will have to make several batches....the popcorn tasted great... instead of oil I used butter or margarine to get a better butter flavor....the kettle is removable for cleaning...... bottom line, this is great for small batches, pops great, and the price was great......

UPDATE!! After 4 years we still use it pretty regularly. Especially since the COVID 19 shelter in place. I would say once a week now. Before maybe once a month. Only one issue really came up. The plastic that holds the handle to the wall cracked and so did part of the wall. From too much tilting and banging to dump out the popcorn. My husband was able to use sugru (a putty that hardens) to fix it. And it works great. I still think flavicol salt is a must. I buy Orville redenbacher kernels and coconut oil from Costco and it’s perfect. I use 3Tbs of coconut oil and 1/8 tsp of flavicol salt (a little goes a long way). I preheat the oil and salt for like 2-3 minutes before I put 1/3 cup of kernals. And the trick to let the machine close the lid works every time. If I don’t do that it will sometimes get stuck. Great machine. I’ll keep it at 4 stars. I think the plastic on the wall with the handle should be sturdier. 2016 review: Bit the bullet and bought this lil popper last week after it hung out in my wishlist for a few weeks. Wanted real popcorn! The size is perfect for 2-3 people. Super easy to use. Instead of the prepacked popcorn I bought the Great Northern Coconut oil and the flavicol salt. Those two really makes it taste like theater popcorn. Bought kernels at the local Trader Joes. Looking for another brand. Only reason it's not a 5 is that half the time the lid hinges would get stuck. The popcorn couldn't escape so it would jam up. However after asking a question about this on Amazon someone said to let the machine close the lid. Which it does and it has happened less. So if it's good I'll come back and update the review. Yummy. Oh and the kiddos love it!

This Little pop corn machine is exactly what I wanted for years! It’s a small 2.5in kettle makes about 1 large popcorn bucket of popcorn at a time. The only thing I would recommend is to buy Orville Redenbacher‘s popping oil and Amish popcorn kernels and Amish popcorn seasoning for the best results and easy cleanup! I used the manufacturers 2.5 ounce popcorn, pre-measured bag and the problem with that is the popcorn seeds have the salt already mixed in within the bag and that burns the kettle. The only issue is that I bought another lightbulb because I didn’t trust the one that came with it due to the other review’s that said that it broke while making popcorn or while it was on. I emailed the company, and this was the newer Modle versus the little Bambino and big Bambino. It’s nice to make fresh popcorn in our movies theater I did not want to by a larger machine due to the hassle of cleanup. I’m sure this will not last long but for now it’s a great value for the price and if I need to buy another one down the road it won’t be an expensive replacement. Also it did not come with little popcorn bag as a gimmick like for the Oder versions. This is also not a kids toy it gets very Hot!

Once we started hearing how bad microwave popcorn can be for you we decided to switch. We had tried an air popper but I did not like it. My husband wanted one similar to one at the movie theaters but space is somewhat of a challenge in our kitchen. I found the Pop Pup, read the reviews and decided that we should try it. I am happy to say that we are not in the least disappointed. First and foremost it produces excellent popcorn. I purchased Snappy Popcorn Supplies, Colored Coconut Oil, Gold Medal Prod. 2045 Flavacol Seasoning Popcorn Salt and Arrowhead Mills Organic Whole Yellow Popcorn, turned the Pop Pup into our very own popcorn marvel. My husband would like to add butter but I think that it is fantastic just the way it is. Add to this that the machine is easy to use AND easy to clean and you just can't go wrong. Some of the reviews mentioned the amount of popcorn that the Pop Pup can produce at once is small or not enough. For us, it is the perfect amount. There are usually two or three of us sharing, two adults and one teenager and there has only been one time that we popped a second batch. If you want to pop a large amount at one time then you probably want a bigger machine but for basic snacking of 1-3 people it is perfect and frankly it would be very easy to pop a second or third batch after your first. One of the things that I personally like about this popper is that it is fun, so much so that I look forward to using it. Anything that gives me the motivation to make and have a healthy snack rather than opening up a bag of chips gets five stars in my book..Anything that will motivate that members of my family to do the same deserves far more. You can get the Pop Pup and all you need to make terrific popcorn for under $60. What are you waiting for?

It is a neat little machine and works good. I really need the movie theatre size version because our household goes through a lot of popcorn Cleaning is not that easy and takes a fair amount of time if you do it right.
