Perfect WiFi switch! It’s the 3rd one I’ve brought from the same brand and it works great. It doesn’t take long to setup and works as you would expect. You can also use Siri and automation to control the switch. Well worth it and definitely will be buying more in the future.

Used to light up the garden via an internal plug and socket. Easy to use and set up and Alexa finds it after plugging the smart socket and setting up on BG Home app.Highly recommended as i have 6 of these smart plugs and have had no issues in 5 years of using them.

This is a socket for switching remotely from anywhere via a smart phone App, and can also be configured for random switching or a repeat schedule. As mentioned in many reviews it works with 2.4G wifi only, and it is configured vi a the App on the smartphone. It's imperative that the phone is connected to the local 2.4G network, and not the 5G network. Not a problem in my case as my networks are configured for different SSID's. If you have the same SSID for your 2.4G and 5G networks it's probably worth temporarily disabling the 5G network in your router settings during configuration.I have five of these sockets which are connected to three different 2.4G wireless networks. Although on different networks, all devices are visible and controlled from within the App which is great. The three networks are the house wifi, garden wifi, and a portable mifi unit on a 4G phone network. It's great that units connect directly to the routers without requiring any form of hub as some other systems. All my sockets are configured as 'masters' so work independently. It's possible to have a socket connected via a master which can extend the distance of the slave socket from the wifi router, however I haven't experimented with this.I did find that sometimes I connected first time without a problem, but on other times it failed. Although the wifi signals were excellent I did find it better to be near the transmitters during configuration. I also had a situation with one unit where it wouldn't complete the configuration until I changed the name of the unit. I sometimes found that patience was required, however it's worth persevering.

I originally purchased the actual double socket versions to replace my old ones from the electrical wholesalers thinking it would be great to have a smart home. I now only have 2 working out of 4 as they just will not reconnect. I already had 1 of these adaptors which was perfect, easy to connect and has worked perfect from day one. I purchased these 2 adapters to replace the un-connectable sockets, neither of them will connect to router via smart connect on the app or otherwise using AP connect. Ive even been into the router settings to try and find the items to accept them but nothing, yet I can clearly see the other sockets and adapter on there. Im so peed off with them now they are going in the bin. Ive had these adapters since sept last year and keep coming back to them to try and get them set up but to no avail. Im not exactly a tech guru but know my way around the router and devices, however let me tell you to turn off the 5GH just so it can find the 2 its not good news if you have other items on it as it can knock out all the settings on your other devices (voice of experience). Every time I had updates constantly on my phone or something happens to power or wifi they fail and had to be reset. I had a lead into my tropical fish tank which controls all the pump and lighting etc, I wanted to be able to turn off the lights on socket timer but leave the pump permanently on so even set the parental control on the socket. Came home one day to see the lights on and the pump off and the app saying no device connected. DO NOT use these for any form of important live stock needs, they will fail you eventually !!!! Excellent product

I bought this Smart Plug just to use as a timer. I decided to buy this one as it was the one with the highest score on Which. Which said it was very easy to set up, not so in my case hence the 3 star rating. According to the instructions you can press the button on the plug and it will connect to your wi-fi, not so for me. The instructions suggested that if it didn't connect then you should go into your router settings and temporally turn off the 5gh part of your router then connect the smart plug !!!!!! I didn't have a clue how to do this and I've never had to do this before on the smart plugs I already have. The instructions also say you can set it up manually, to do this you have to set a different flashing light sequence on the plug but the instructions do not tell you how to do this. I was on the verge of sending it back when I managed to get the correct light sequence on the plug so managed to connect it to my wi-fi. I didn't think the menus for setting up the timer were that good and no mention is made of how to connect to Alexa at all. Avoid !!

There are several different smart plugs/adapters available each relying on an App to work and that's where the difference is. The BG devices use the BG Home app and it is the best combination that I've found in terms of easy to install and configure and more importantly, to me anyway; once installed they just keep on working. As a bonus if you aren't very tech savvy then the BG home support is excellent.

I've got smart plugs from quite a few manufacturers, some are lacking, some are good and some stand out from the rest, these do stand out, great value, reliable, excellent WiFi range and very easy to setup on the app. Probably will only buy these from now on.
