great box good quality the key lock was very tight but overall very happy

I ordered two sizes of this toolbox, the atv and the footlocker size to see what fit on a trailer better. The atv size was too small however the fit and finish was great.Unfortunately the footlocker has a dent in the lid and was unable to open - maybe from being dented or just a defect - the world may never know. However the wise was right, so I set up an exchange with amazon.The replacement arrived, and the fit and finish was pretty poor. There were some obvious bends, but it’s aluminum so that happens. Further, I had to take a file and sand down a weld km a corner as it protruded out to a point and was gouging the interior of the lid when opening or closing with a ‘clunk.’Not wanting to deal with another return, I sanded it down and it worked fine. The lid, however is definitely not centered on the box.Fit and finish if pretty poor. Or QC is asleep. The design of the box is just like every other box, with the exception of the best dual layer lid design. That’s nice and makes for a pretty stable lid.I mean the box itself is worth 4 stars, and the QC is worth 1-2. I settled at 3. It’s a tool box, so, I don’t need a luxury finish. But basic open and close functions alike be nice. ;)

This is a good quality toolbox. I am a farmer and keep this in the bed of my truck mostly to keep some of my cordless power tools out of the weather. I also load it up on my atv from time to time. After one summer of hard work opening it a lot and throwing tools and whatnot on top of it has maintained it's shape and no dents. So that tells me it is relatively durable and probably made of thick enough aluminum. It is very light when empty but the size is big enough that it is very easy to load it heavy. I would like more sturdy handles as I'm worried that is the weak link on this toolbox. When I put it on the atv I hold it down to the rack using the two handles. I'm just worried the rivets are going to come loose. ALso when it is loaded with stuff the handles just feel....inadequate like the rivets are going to rip out of the sides if I use them this way too much. The latch is very smooth and works well and the lift cylinder has plenty of power to lift the lid and keep it up sturdy. This winter I will probably build and weld on a custom bracket with a quick release so that I can put it on the atv without straps. It is quite big for an atv ( i put it on the rear rack of a honda rincon) but actually perfect for me as I really load my atv down with a lot of tools for working on pivots on the farm sometimes. I would definitely buy this again.

It is not a "Heavy Duty" steel toolbox. There are a few very expensive but stout boxes out there. This is one very light weight but strong and a third of the price. I'm 210lbs and can stand and sit on it no problem. Looks great and provides some security. I have had other brands of all steel boxes broken into before. No box is 100% secure, this one included. But, it does the job. FYI- the "Footlocker" fits perfectly between the wheel wells of a Jeep CJ.Note: They usually come in with a ding here or there. They aren't protected much.

not bad a bit on the light side, and it does not open by itself you have to give it a nudge. but serves my purpose.

I used this as a drawer for under a deck. I used 200 lb full extension drawer slides. I needed something that would not rust or soak through, as the area floods in the spring, and something that would be suitable for storing a grill (hot sometimes) and equipment. I wanted a lid that would be impervious to weather, squirrels, raccoon, and mice. I needed something that would be sturdy.This box fit the bill perfectly.

I had given up on truck boxes I found locally, even in their catalogs. I had not heard of this brand but it's a top quality product. Customer service answered my questions before I ordered. The lid comes with gas springs, not found in all boxes this size, and a better than average lock. This box will look great in my truck.
