this is a knock off of a much better product "Rocky Raccoon," It is not really for children under the age of 10, as it requires a certain amount of manual dexterity to make it look alive. However, this version has something in it's head/neck that makes it harder to work with than a Rocky. I do not recommend "Robbie."

I purchased this knock-off of the original Rocky Raccoon puppet because I was told that this one is more realistic and higher in quality. I would later find out that there is a vast variation in the quality that you will see in these puppets because they are constantly shifting the work onto whoever will build it the cheapest with the lowest cost material possible (in China of course).The irony, is that on the dvd the guy is telling you all the great things about this puppet that make it superior 'It doesn't have paper thin skin like some of them!' And yet I'm holding the thing in my hand, and yes, you did make it out of really cheap thin skin. 'The spring is of the highest quality' And again, the spring in it is crap.The back of mine even came with a gaping hole where a Chinese girl didn't bother sewing it all the way together. The eyes are sewn on crooked, and the nose is bald. Also, unlike the picture they show of a highly detailed raccoon, mine is completely grey. With its cock eyes and bald nose it looks more like a possum that got hit.The other reason that I bought this was that it came with a dvd. Little did I realize that it was a 25 minute dvd that didn't teach me anything that I couldn't see for myself by watching a couple of youtube videos.Take your money on over to a reputable dealer and purchase a REAL Rocky Raccoon. I think I'm going to have to myself. Just chalk this up as a learning experience.

I purchased this size and the smaller one for my son and I to play with. The small one is much easier to control even for me. In this one, the head joint seems to be too far back and it sheds horribly. The smaller one had half the tail break off the first day so I am not sure which is worse.We had fun with them so I don't regret the purchase, just wish the fun could have continued.

As someone who owned a genuine Rocky at one point in time i would like to point out the vast difference in build quality between the two... The spring is not as responsive as the original and nowhere near as smooth to operate. this one retains air and gives an impression of inflating every time it is compressed etc. It is not the worst product i have ever bought and someone who never owned an original Rocky Raccoon wouldn't know what they are missing but anyone who has will immediately feel a difference. Not the worst but not a competitor to the original Rocky... Wish you could still get them.

Very funny little fella. But following the instructions is more difficult then you think. But ford a laugh with the kids it is creative and cute,
