Exactly what we needed
I bought this for my husband’s truck that would have a check engine light come on. Instead of borrowing a code reader or going to a shop to have them do it, we could just walk out the door and get it read. It was compatible with his truck, read the codes accurately, and is so easy to use. This is definitely a good thing to have available for immediate use, whether you keep it in your car or in your toolbox. Makes a great little sticking stuffer, too!

still can't give 5 stars but, it is better than I first posted
it's ok but you have to buy a different upgrade for each vehicle you use it on.I have 3 vehicles so that's 30 dollars to check them all.I had trouble getting even the free version to download on my phone and then I had more problems getting the upgrade .Once I got the free app it connected up nicely but you need to switch back and forth from internet wifi to the obd wifi ( on my Tab 3 )Overall my experience was very frustrating.I liked the look of the dashboard and the info it gave was accurate.I will be returning this and pay a few dollars more for one I can use on all my vehicles.UDATE 7/16/17After further testing and playing around with this I found that I can use it on all my vehicles. The extra charge apps are for vehicle specific codes and it tells you what the fault is you just have to google the specific fix,I have used it on a GMC truck and a Ford E450 class C motor home..I still have some issues with the wifi. disconnecting after 5 or ten minutes and having to reconnect.I will be going on a long trip next month and want to use it to track mileage , temp etc. I will update again after the tripI give the company 5 stars for customer service and reaching out to me to try and rectify my issues. They contacted me twice to offer a refund for the app that didn't download.overall 3.5 starsUDATE 8/31/17I have been using it on a trip from Alaska to the east coast. I covered over 5000 miles nd the unit has performed very welldepending on what set of dash boards I use I can track gall per hr miles per gallon cost and many other variables. It even saved me from a ticket in a speed trap ( my speedometer was off by 5 mph).It has been very accurate and except for a couple times having trouble staying connected overall it performed as expected. The only thing I don't like is that it is wifi rather than blue tooth, not the vendors problem but when I go for a new one I will go for blue tooth.Still 5 stars for company service but I have to take a star off for the sometimes sporadic wifi connection.I would recommend this vendor and will not hesitate to purchase from them in the future.

Great OBD Reader (that Works with Various Apps!)
This OBD reader works great. You just have to plug it in, connect to it using your phone (via WiFi) and then find and download an app you like. (I initially thought that you could only use the app they mention in the instructions, but you DO NOT. (In my case, the little pamphlet recommended an app called "FasLink X" which was terrible). I recommend using the "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" app instead, which is free on the app store). You'll easily get your money's worth here just from clearing recurring codes (... yes Subaru, I know you think the gas cap is still loose. Thanks for the fifteenth (mistaken) reminder this week... .) No real complaints for the price! I would (and have) bought this product more than once (lost the first one lol). Highly recommend!

SELLER DOES NOT ENFORCE THEIR OWN QUALITY GUARANTEE -- BIG SCAM!
Let me start by saying that I do my research before purchasing any product on Amazon. I read others' reviews before making a purchasing decision which is why I purchased this particular scanner. It worked as advertised when I first got it, but here I am 7 months later and the scanner no longer communicates to any device. The scanner, when plugged in, used to show up on my phone under available WiFi access points and I left the scanner plugged into my car. Now, the scanner doesn't show up under my WiFi at all.I tried all logical troubleshooting methods: ensuring it was plugged in all the way, unplug/plug it back in (while car was running and when I shut it off/restart it), tried connecting to the unit with a different smartphone, etc. Nothing worked. I used my phone to take a picture of the scanner while it was plugged in because there are 5 dots that light up on the unit and I wanted to see what the unit was showing. It had 1 out of 5 dots lit up in red. I can only assume this meant the unit was not functioning properly. I bought the unit on 11/26/16.First off, I visited the manufacturer's website to see if I could download a manual to verify the light was indeed displaying a communication error, but of course, they had NO DOCUMENTATION WHATSOEVER nor any support links. I contacted Amazon to see what my options were and they recommended I work with the manufacturer to resolve the issue, which I was. The manufacturer's website under 'Contact Us' provides no customer service phone number, only a generic support email with a promise to respond within 24 hours.I emailed the manufacturer, explaining in detail my situation along with all troubleshooting methods I followed and let them know I just purchased it 6.5 months ago and did not expect the item to fail so soon. They responded to the email the next day stating (in broken English):"Dear Customer,We are Foseal Store from Amazon. Thanks for purchasing our product and sorry for the problem caused to you.About the questions you mentioned in your email. As far as I'm concernd, Since you have been buying it for a long time, there may be some normal wear and tear on our products. To give back to our old customers, you can buy the same product at half price.Any other question, please contact us, we will response you within 24 hoursHave a good day to you!Foseal store"I reviewed the manufacturer's website and under its section titled 'RETURN' it clearly states in its first line:" For all products purchased on the site, Foseal's customers enjoy a 24-month-long product quality guarantee, under all circumstances..(This 24-month-long product quality guarantee is only for all the orders since September 1, 2015.)"I would first like to point out, any products listed on their site are not actually sold through the site, the site links products directly through Amazon for purchase. My scanner was clearly purchased after September 1, 2015 (well within their guidelines) and the quality of the product is faulty within 6.5 months time. I would call that a quality issue which should fall on the manufacturer to remedy. According to the manufacturer's website's documentation, the product should still be covered under a quality guarantee for another 17 months! Why exactly should I be expected to shell out more money (even at HALF the price) to purchase another?!? This is UNACCEPTABLE business practice. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. Just a bad vibe all around.

Did NOT work with K67 S1000R and MotScan
I was unable to properly communicate with K67 S1000RR ECU with this device with MotoScan software. Might have been my error but once I purchased UniCarScan UCSI-2100 OBD2 Bluetooth device all was straight forward and issue free.
