. Recommend! Really nice, installed easily.. some tips b4 you install
I purchased the Grey 5 boxes of the 4 foot slats (our fence is 11 gage - 2 1/4” diamond slat size) I called and verified with the company that installed our fence 8 yrs ago, the gage / diamond size b4 purchasing. They offered to have me buy their vendors privacy slats and install for about $1000. To install a privacy vinyl privacy fence they quoted $14k. No thanks… including s&h of $60 UPS ( which I checked and that is what USPS charges for 31 lbs from vendor to my location) this cost $299. WAY cheaper…We were trying to cover one side of our fence due to neighbor not cleaning up their yard, and wanted privacy from their dogs/mess. My husband said it was my project, and I did it all by myself (girl power..lol) I’m not mechanically inclined, and it took me about 6 hours over 2 days to complete it start to finish. My suggestion is have a small stool to sit on/scissors/butter knife/ U shaped stakes ( you can buy on Amazon also - once your finished you need to secure the fence to the ground- per our fence professional) so I bought those and for every 10 feet used 3 stakes. That way if you have high winds, the weight adding the stakes will not topple over your fence. I first put the bottom pieces on, then put all the slats in place (using one box at a time) and while sitting on the stool used the butter knife to open up the bottom piece wide enough to push the slat down and lock into place. I had the best luck pulling the bottom piece lip toward me and then getting the slat to lock into place. It’s time consuming, but take your time and you’ll get the hang of it. When I was finished, I went back over the top of each slat pushed down gently to make sure each slat was “ locked in place” then put my stakes in the ground. A few times I had to push back a metal twist piece to get the slat to drop down into the diamond, but they are pretty simple to do. I did trim 2 pieces at the start and end of the fence to not leave any openings. Overall, it looks really nice and the slats are really nice quality. Arrived within a week of ordering. Really impressed myself, didn’t ask for husband’s help at all, and he was impressed I did it all on my own, and how nice and private it looks. Would highly recommend. Hope my tips helps others when start this process. June 2023 update- slats held up so well this past year decided to finish the rest of chain link fence with more slats, and installed privacy fence on one side to give complete privacy from neighbors. Very happy. Ordered 2 more boxes, only needed 1 to finish project. Refund simple and easy, they must have updated their policies. No return restock / shipping fees, and said no return of the extra box required but giving full refund of unopened box. Awesome company. Thanks!

Easy to install and gives a finished, more polished look
Each box covers 10 feet of fence line, just as advertised. Easy to install once you get the hang of it. Do not skip the first step: install the horizontal bottom piece first as you work each section. If your fence is older and a little janky, I recommend starting in a less janky area, just to get the hang of it, and that will make it much easier to work with problem areas. I have a couple areas where old tree stumps grew through the fence, and it was fairly easy to trim the slats to work around those areas. Also, it was easy to trim the tops of the slats in areas where the growth prevented me from keeping the bottom even. I used a stool to sit on to install the bottom horizontal pieces, and for the vertical pieces I rarely had to bend down, so my back/body was not aching at the end of the day. We had the 50 foot green fence tarps on it before this. The tarps were less expensive and provide complete privacy, and these are more expensive, take longer to install, and you can see movement through them but not much else-- but these look so much nicer and "finished." If you want to do it right the first time and be happy with it for a long time, these are the way to go.

Best option; easy to install
I have 80ft of 6ft chainlink fence across the back of my yard; I wanted privacy because of our pool. While the slats offered less privacy than the wood fence we had, we like the slats, they just look better. I ordered and installed 20 ft at a time while removing the old fence--the chainlink was behind it. After installing 50ft, I went to order more and Amazon was out of stock with a message stating, Amazon did not know when they would be back in stock. I ordered only 10ft of "Rigid Slats" from Slats Depot because I was worried about the color matching; close enough. The issue is, the Slats Depot, slats are of lesser gauge; that is, thinner. I thought about sending them back but would have to pay shipping so I kept them. I logged on to Amazon to check available of these preferred slats and they had them. I ordered the last 20ft I needed. For the 85 cents difference is cost in consideration of shipping cost. These slats are much better. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of cost. they all cost too much For me $55.00 shipping included would be a more competitive price. I neighbor asked about them; he liked them. He thought they were too expensive. I am happy with the purchase, it was the best option for me.

Ease of installation.
I LOVE this product! I put off 'installing' it because I read a review that said it was hard to do - the slats supposedly wouldn't go in the locking channel easily enough. It's actually good that they aren't too easy, you don't want them to come back out, but I had NO problem with it. I just used a flat head screwdriver to slightly open the channel and the slat popped right in. The only problem I had was with the fence itself, it's over 70 years old and had a few places that were slightly bent. Just make sure the 'path' for the slats is clear and not damaged so it won't impede the installation and the slats will slip right in. I had a shorter fence so I had to cut the slats but they cut easily - just remember you aren't cutting a flat surface so take it slowly for a nice even edge. The fence looks great!!

Easy to install and looks great
I ordered the 6ft Brown slats for my 30+ year old fence to replace the type of privacy material you have to weave through each link by hand. I have not liked this stuff since the day I spent slogging through the install. I started the project of installing the new slats by removing the old material, what a pain in the rear that was. The new slats installed and as the information stated, it was very easy and went fairly quick once I did the first few. I only ordered 2 boxes to test to see if I liked the product, I finished the 2 boxes and have ordered 4 more to finish the fence. I would highly recommend you give these a try.

Unhappy
I am not happy with these slats because they are very thin and flimsy. They were not inexpensive, but they are cheaply made. And the locking system doesn’t really exist; because they are so thin, they just bend when you attempt to slide them into the bottom.

Works well and stood up to the winter!!
These privacy slats worked well in our chain link fence. We just covered one corner of the yard where the neighbours dog would come to tease our reactive boxer. A functional and robust product.
