Meyer Lansky: The Infamous Life and Legacy of the Mob’s Accountant

A patriotic criminal who was also a founding member of Murder Inc.
Meyer Lansky was a very interesting criminal he was one of the founding members of Murder Inc. He was patriotic and worked with the American government during World War II and participated in Operation Underworld. The question is how did he die in bed of cancer and old age? Why wasn’t the government able to put him in prison? Read the e-book and find out. The e-book contains a couple of minor typographical errors. I rate the e-book 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book.

Nothing New
This is another one of a dozen or so books that have nothing but the media made story of a man who's REAL STORY is yet to be told

Informative
This is a very short, hit the highlights, book. I would’ve preferred a little more depth but I came away understanding a little more about Lansky and I’m glad I read it.

A life of crime
The life story of one of the 20th century's most famous mobsters. Meyer Lansky. Did he, or did he not, arrange for the murder of any of his criminal competitors? Apparently undetermined, though evidence remained. Did he die a wealthy man, or was he nearly broke at the end? Also uncertain. In any event, he devoted the years of his life to pursuing wealth and success in the criminal world.

Horribly written
Wow. This book is so poorly written it was hard to get through. It is either written for eighth graders or BY an eighth grader. I gave it more than one star because it did have some information in it, but if I was judging by the writing it would have been in the negatives. What do I mean, you ask? Here is one example: “Lansky soon bade good riddance to Las Vegas, for the razzle -dazzle of Sin City had revealed itself to be no more than cheap confetti and tawdry pageantry.”Besides the ridiculous wording, “obviously”, “on account of”, “on top of that”, “with that said”, etc...there are typos galore: “For a prince, we provided them with these amusements.”LOLI would say “buyer beware” but this book was free. Pay the money for something better!

History at it finest and all so quick!
I love reading the history of all kinds (people, places, and things) well now I have found another outlet to get my fill! It is so nice to quickly read about times and people and have all of the important bits right at my fingertips. My husband's family had some distant ties to the MOB and that made this even more interesting! My thanks to Charles River... History at it finest and all so quick!

Quick read
Spend an hour and read the book. No real new info from earlier books on the same subject of Meyer.

Disappointing
I normally do a wee bit of research before buying but I didn’t for this purchase and I wish I had. It ‘s a very short book, it does state that so my fault for not reading. You will not learn anything new from the book and there are definitely better written and more factual books on Meyer Lansky

Not really a book
This isn't a book, it's a poorly produced pamphlet. Partly my fault, I didn't read the reviews...
