This is the ONLY pencil sharpener that effectively sharpens my professional Prismacolor pencils that I use for my illustrations.
This is the ONLY pencil sharpener that effectively sharpens my professional Prismacolor pencils that I use for my illustration profession. The prismacolor sharpener does not hold justice to it and is way more expensive. If you use the larger whole when sharpening your pencils your lead doesn't break often like it does with other sharpeners! Before these I had to use a sharpener and an exacto and sandpaper... Half of my day at my job was wasted sharpening pencils until now!!!!!

Nothing Special.
This sharpener is Chinese made with German made razor blades. The package says "US since 1889" trying to convince that it is US made. Sharpens a little better than a plastic sharpener. Probably a good buy at a dollar.

My best for sharpening Prismacolor Premier Pencils
This is the best ever sharpener I have used for my Prismacolor Pencils. I have not lost a core once while using this sharpener. Well worth paying an extra couple bucks for.

Buyer Beware
Made in China crap, not made in Germany as advertised.

It just keeps working and working!
This all-metal sharpener doesn't break! Great for keeping in a kid's backpack or pencil case. No comparison to those awful plastic ones that are easier to locate at the store.

Nice Metal Two Hole Sharpener, Super Light Weight!
Recently purchased this General two hole pencil sharpener for my wife and her art drawings. General has used aluminum in making this two hole pencil sharpener, so it is much lighter than the older lead or steal pencil sharpeners. My wife does like the light weight being older and her hands not always working. Where I prefer the heavier model, as it seems to make it easier to grasp while sharpening a pencil. But hey, that is just me.The blades on the two hole pencil sharpener came sharp and ready to shave pencils. They are also removable so they can be replaced. I have not looked into replacement blades to know their cost or if they are of the same quality that came with the General's two hole pencil sharpener. After looking high and low for a metal pencil sharpener at all the local retail stores and have no luck what so ever. As all we found there were the cheap plastic sharpeners that you have to re-buy every few years. Being we are thinking different with our lives and how we use items. We wanted a metal pencil sharpener so it would be the last one we had to buy for the rest of our life. And we believe we found it with this General's metal two holed pencil sharpener. We were not paid nor discounted in any way, shape or form for giving our honest opinion here of this product as a review to assist others. Sharpens pencils without much waste. I am happy.
It sharpens much better than the cheap plastic ones I gave my children. I am using a soft core set of colored pencils. This sharpens within a twist or two, does not eat up the pencil. The leads do not seem to break as much either. I wish I had bought it with the pencils from the start. It is small enough I can put it into one of my case's elastic bands and carry it with the pencils. Simply works, not magical or anything. I feel I received exactly what I paid for. Do not see any rust or anything. Sometimes, on reviews for other sharpeners, others have indicated that these sharpeners would solve every problem or leave the tip as perfect as the first time they used their pencils. Evidently there is some skill to sharpening pencils, as I get a sharp point very quickly, but have not been able to get the lead length that the new pencils had when I first used them. I will take photos someday to show what I mean. I am happy to get a sharp point quickly with as little waste as possible and enjoy coloring my pictures, or shading in diagrams.
