Ryka Influence is my favorite shoe ever!
The Ryka Influence shoe fits like it was made for me personally! Amazing shoes! I have a medium width foot, wider at across at the little toe joint and narrow at heal. I also have high arch. I have these shoes in every color I can get my hands on in case Ryka phases out the style since the thick sole look is currently trending. The best thing about RYKA’s are in the details. The tell you the heal to toe rise. They have sole types based on your activity. They are made specifically for women. The Influence model has a low heel rise of 8 mm so my foot is not thrown forward. It has a circular area or pivot point on the sole under the big toe. Didn’t realize how useful that was until I had to do 3 months of PT. This model is marketing for use with activities like aerobics and Zumba but I wear my RYKA’s all the time. I first saw them when taking my husband for medical treatments at the hospital and a lot of nurses were wearing them several years ago. The first two pair I ordered, I ordered in my usual size 8. The fit was exactly spot on and allowed for thin footies or socks. I only wore them to the gym at that time. Three years later, I found I needed to go up to a thicker cushioned sock and the shoes felt a little tight at the toe so I purchased 8.5 size. Perfect!!!I now live in these shoes. I damaged both knees in a recent fall and these shoes help keep me aligned so I can wear them all day without pain or discomfort. I wear them to the gym and PT with no problem and they’ve held up very well. Admittedly, I don’t do hardcore activities in them but I am hard on shoes. I wish I’d had sense enough to wear them while I was still teaching!Ryka has a wide variety of styles, both lace up and slip on. I highly recommend the brand and so glad they have a store on Amazon now!!

Why I Keep Coming Back to Ryka
I rarely write reviews—unless something is really amazing or really awful. And let me tell you… the Ryka Cross Trainers are REALLY amazing! It honestly feels like they were custom-made for my feet. Ryka shoes are designed specifically for women—not just a smaller version of a men’s shoe—and that alone should convince us ladies to give them a try. This is my third pair of Ryka cross trainers. I’ve tried other athletic shoes in between, but I keep coming back to Ryka. Why? Because they’re just better in every way: • Better cross-training performance • Better arch support • Better impact absorption • Better pivot point • And yes… better looks (they are seriously so cute!)In short, they check every box and then some. Highly recommend!

Luv the colors & the style
Really luv the colors & think the style is really cool, but there r several things I don’t like about them. The toe box is a little too wide so that when I walk it bends ( like a crease) & rubs my small toe. All my sneaks r med width & never had this problem. On the left side of each sneaker is a kind of bulge right below the small toe where maybe people might have a bunion. I wondered if that’s what it’s for, but none of my other sneakers have it. Looks a little weird. The banding that goes around the sneaker is very rigid, not flexible at all. If u get a size that’s snug I think that may b uncomfortable. None of my other sneakers r like that, all of them r flexible. But this pr isn’t snug so it’s not a problem. The shoelaces r very flimsy (thin widthwise & thickness), but I don’t want to change them bcuz they match the trim. Lastly, but maybe most importantly, they have insoles that match the trim & shoelaces (dk pink) & the color leached out all over the bottom of my sox, & it doesn’t come out in the wash. Never had that happen in my life! So, after saying all that, I decided I liked the colors & style enough that I’d keep them. I’m going to wear a thicker sock so maybe it won’t rub my toe & hope eventually the color will stop running into my sox. When I wear them I wear the same sox so I don’t ruin a lot of them. I switch my sneakers every day (have 7 prs). Hope this helps!Forgot to say that the sneakers r comfortable (except for the toe rubbing)!I just wanted to comment on the review below mine about the “running shoe sole”. I feel the exact same way. Makes your feet look so much bigger. That’s why I like this style so much it’s kinda slenderizing. I’ll actually order another pair. I can’t stand all that extra rubber on the sole & behind your heel on almost all sneakers. Who needs to make your feet look bigger?

Comfortable fit and light weight. Designed for foot comfort.
This my 2nd pair. I love them. The 1st pair is still going strong. I wear them outside a lot to work in the yard. the soles have not peeled like other shoes normally do. I have had the 2nd pair since 2015. I wore them to workout in for a while. Then one day I needed shoes to wear outside to work in the yard. They have held up better than any shoes I have. The new pair are so comfortable. I'm on my feet all day. They are light weight and the toe box is spacious.

These are performance shoes for Aerobic
I just got my 2nd pair of these Influence Ryka, today. The picture I added is how these shoes are supposed to look after 6 months with extreme, daily workout routines. These shoes are for certain floor types such as, gyms, dancefloor, or turf- that's why the shoes still look new. These shoes are not made for walking around outside. Ryka has a variety of walking shoes, casual wears, and running. I bought the Ryka VIvid first, and they were great and had the grip, but they are much looser than the Influence. Influence has more support, having a tighter, wide fit.

Decal stripes peel off
Awesome gym sneakers as they're so supportive, keep your feet stable and really "stick" to the floor and other surfaces when taking indoor classes. This is my favorite sneaker brand for the gym. Unfortunately, the quality has slipped as the stripes on this sneaker are basically decals that completely peel off as your foot bends at the toe (normal use). Much to love about this sneaker but clearly corners are being cut in the manufacturing process to save money.
