Catalyst by Halston for Men, Eau De Toilette Spray, 3.4-Ounce

I bought this for $30 on Amazon a few years back, along with several other Halston scents, all made by EA fragrances. Now it’s $300, so I left the “value” part of this review blank for obvious reasons-it’s basically priceless, and the value is determined by the consumer...in any case the bright orange liquid is EXTREMELY potent. I got 10+ hours on my skin, and it evolved nicely. When I first bought it I thought to myself “damn this is strong” but every time I put it on I am reminded what cologne is supposed to be. It indeed has the Halston vibe, where one senses that it could nicely cover up the stink of a weekend long bender, cigarettes, sex and sleeping in your clothes. If I woke up in a gutter, this is what I would use to “do the job.” Perhaps this is my only uncorrupted Harry Fremont scent...this is KFC the way the Colonel originally intended. The only scent that comes close to this in my collection is Xeryus LPM by Givenchy, yet this doesn’t nauseate when sprayed at the same power levels. I pity the fool what didn’t buy a bottle of this when it was in reach. If you should run across this in someone’s timeshare medicine cabinet, do not hesitate to try it out.

Smells awesome

Best cologne ever. Was so afraid this was going to be permanently discontinued. Great price, too! At one time this cologne was at least three times the cost and I couldn't tell you why it was so expensive. I've been wearing this cologne for a little over 10 years now and the smell is always exactly the same - truly high quality. One spray lasts all day on me, and it is pretty stout so one spray is all you really need which makes the bottle last forever. It's perfect.

I used to buy this all the time but with the middle and high designer stores closing i haven't found it around here. I loved the set they used to make with the test tubes etc. Included. Very good product and price for the larger size flask. Smells great I'm ordering myself one also. This one is for my twin boys birthday

A pretty classic scent reminiscent of other 90s style fragrances being released at this time. Someone mentioned on a forum, that it reminds them of a modern bay rum. That seems to sum it up . Longevity and projection aren't really strong. I own a facial toner version from the 90s, I bought at a department store closeout sale around 97, 98. It is much more pronounced in terms of longevity and seems to have more development than this version.

I first purchased this for my husband about 10yrs ago. It was a boxed combo set of the cologne & aftershave. Catalyst is such an interesting blend of spices. Have never experienced anything quite like it. My husband loves it & is always being asked by other fellas "what is that cologne"?? & of course where can it be purchased. He tells them to check Amazon. Plus.....the price is so affordable I try to always keep a couple extra put away.
