It grease on oring before first turn on!
This filter is built like a tank. The housing is very thick and seems to be well made. The oring did not come pre-lubed and leaked first time turning it on and had to be shut off canister removes and silicone grease put on it. After that worked like a charm. The only concern is the threads seemed a bit loose for the 3/4" in and out. Took a lot of teflon tape (way more than I would normally use) and still seemed like it would leak. However this is not the case and got a leak free install.

Exploded after 6 months of use. Warning: potential property damage or injury
I never write bad reviews, unless I have to. Every account I have with any store or review system (some dating back over 15 years) has less than 5% negative reviews. I figure mediocre or poor products should get no extra attention of any kind... unless they could damage property or injure someone.ContextWe live in Atlanta near the river, in an area with lots of old trees. Water main breaks and ongoing work on water lines around this part of the city means we got a lot of sediment the first few minutes after the water comes back on. I installed this filter for the purpose of protecting expensive new appliances from sediment that could damage heating elements and sensors. This means I'm running very coarse filters, at least 50 micron - literally just enough to keep out silica. This also means the filters are high flow - aka - very LOW pressure within the filter housing. The IncidentThis product was professionally installed, in a pressure regulated plumbing circuit, within an air conditioned space. All the plumbing, and the water regulator, was new and tested. The filter housing was never subjected to out-of-spec pressure levels, sunlight, heat or freeze - before or after install. 6 months after install, it spontaneously exploded. Water gushed across my hardwood floors, sheetrock was soaked, and trim eventually separated from the wall.If I wasn't home, the neighboring townhomes would have been flooded, and the damage would have been catastrophic. Luckily, I was in the neighboring room, so only about 20-30 gallons of water escaped before I shut the whole system off. Luckily, I'd installed a huge, easily accessed, main shutoff valve in the closet where the supply line comes into the house.GeekPure ResponseI contacted GeekPure support about this issue and though a representative promptly replied, and offered a 50% discount on an upgrade product, they went on to pour several gallons of insult over my injury:• GeekPure rep reminded me that my filter was just beyond the one year warranty. I'd bought it in 10/20, and didn't install it until 05/21.My interpretation: Oh, so it's okay for it to explode for no reason right after the warranty expires. GeekPure wants you to know this is a short term use product - almost as disposable as the filters they are designed to hold.• GeekPure rep then pasted in some text from some sort of "lab test results" on their products, claiming the filter housing could only withstand so many cycles of 150psi before bursting.• It's like the GeekPure rep didn't read half of what I wrote. Especially that I'd installed a new pressure regulator and it was set to about half of this maximum.• The pressure regulator and main cutoff switch are in the main line, UPSTREAM from this unit. There's no way the filter housing was ever exposed to such extreme pressure or variations in pressure.Basically, they were saying I was wrong, and I must have done something wrong. No way their product could ever fail.ConclusionIf you build a successful business in retail, the only test results that matter is customer experiences. I get it - there's a lot of bums and idiots in online retail. Anyone literate and sober could tell that my support request was from a customer that had a bad experience who should not have. This is not an isolated incident - other reviews mention similar experiences. My filter housing was never exposed to any forces outside of spec, yet it was turned into shrapnel and caused a huge flood of water in my house.I thought that seeing GeekPure here on Amazon for more than a year might mean they were one of the reputable vendors. I guess I was wrong. The unprofessional reply I received from the GeekPure rep made me realize it would be irresponsible to install any of their products, ever again. So, I'm cutting my losses (mostly time, luckily) and investing in a more robust product from another manufacturer. If you have any GeekPure products that are under constant water pressure installed in your home, you should consider replacing them, or at least have a water sensing cutoff installed upstream, but as close as possible to the unit. Search "Water Leak Shut Off Valve" to see products that have cutoff valves that turn water off when leaks are detected. Sure they might seem expensive, but the price will be much cheaper than say, replacing a hardwood floor, or paying to remodel your neighbor's living room. That's what I narrowly avoided because I happened to be less than 15 feet away when this filter housing exploded in my utility closet.

Great Value
I have checked many places on this item. Great value and has been working now for about two months in line with our water. Can’t go wrong with this item.

Perfect
Perfect replacement for my previous filter. I love that the containers are clear so you can actually see when you are due to change the filters!

Great for indoor use
Outside, not so much. Due to the sun shining on it, it creates a lot moss inside of it. Now I have to replace the filter more than ever and scrubbing the the inside clean is a bear.

Flavor? Amazon...it's not a cookie!
Works great! Only draw back. Wrench is not the same as big blue filters. So don't loose it!

OK but not as good as Pentair big blue
Just installed this unit last weekend. Bought it because I wanted to be able to see any sediment around the filter. The ports were easy to cross thread and the housing threads into the base very rough. Also, they don't send the fasteners to attach the wall bracket to the head so you have to figure that out too. The unit appears to be holding water (not leaking) and the filter fit well. I put this unit in series with the pentagram housing I had to make a 2 stage 25 micron, 0.5 micron system.

Plastic is unstable -Will break-
I've purchased this item 2 times already because of its low Price point, but as they say, you almost always get what you pay for.The First purchase and install ended up cracking and leaking after about 6 months of use. I figured that the plastic housing became brittle from direct sunlight and could not hold the higher 75 PSI that my water system required.I replaced it with another Geek Pure filter housing exactly the same and this time wrapped it in aluminum foil to shield from the sunlight.....it cracked after about 10 months of use.Don't waste your money unless you have an extremely low water pressure.I will be replacing with a higher quality brand filter housing

Good visual indicator
We have a large well water holding tank. The well is a slow producer so we need to stockpile at least 1500 gallons for peak demands. The water has high iron content and can get cloudy despite 100 and 10 micron filters at the well head. This clear whole house filter was used with 1 micron , washable pleated filters. Approx 150 gallons an hour was recirculated from the holding tank as a water purification loop. The clear housing let me see how soon the filter needed a cleaned exchange, which turned out to be almost daily.

Junk product, do not purchase
Threads on the inlet and outlet aren’t cut properly and fittings don’t seat in to seal.Definitely cannot recommend this product and seen afterwards that multiple reviews state same issue.Should have researched this product before purchasing.

Water bunker so silty
I have a well deep deep in a sinkhole. Water is crystal clear when undisturbed but has micro sized silt that mushroom clouds if the box is disturbed. I use a 5 micron and a 1 micron filter is sequence and it removes everything. Under normal circumstances I'm sure the filter in this case could last months. Imma get maybe a month if I'm lucky cuz it so silty.
