I painted it with water colors and sealed it and it looked so beautiful. It was well put together and sturdy....up until I brought it inside for a storm and my husky ate it (he’s fine). If you have big dogs or a dog/cat who likes to chew, they will tear this apart. Despite that, it looked so lovely and we had finches in it for a bit. The stand in the front does just slide right in and out so I suggest a small amount non toxic glue to secure it in place so it doesn’t fall out when the birds perch.

I had to return. Nicely made. You can paint if needed. But we needed a bigger house because its for a family of 3 birds. Otherwise I would have keot especially for the price!

This was too small for our gray male cockatiel, but it sure looks cute with all his other play toys

Just received this product on Tuesday and the bird has already moved in. Every year the birds start building a nest in my mailbox. Last year I purchased a birdhouse and put it close to the mailbox and they never used it. This year they started again building a nest in my mailbox. My daughter suggested that the hole in the prior birdhouse may be too small, so I purchased this one. I ordered it on Monday, and received it on Tuesday, on Wednesday (yesterday) the bird had already moved in and started nest building. I made sure that it is strongly secured to the wall so that bird activity and/or weight does not comprise the safety. A++

The hole for the bird to get in to build a house was too bid, possible the baby birds might fall off. So retired it.

These are very nice but they will need to be painted or stained.

I love the larger hole for medium size birds. It is light weight which I like because I cover it with other materials that add weight. The pretty latch makes it easy to clean each season.

This birdhouse is cute, but it's very rough & splintery--not paint-ready; the wood has not been sanded well at all. Bits of tiny wood splinters are coming off every time I touch it.The one I received is also broken: the hole for the perch was drilled very close to the bottom, and there's a split in the wood between the hole and the bottom of the birdhouse. Worst of all, the perch pole won't go in the hole at all--the drilled hole is too small! (Maybe they stopped drilling when the wood split!?)I do like the hinged bottom with a latch, but it doesn't fit well & the latch is difficult to close. A design issue is that the "roof" doesn't extend at all over the hole or perch, not even a millimeter.Will need to return it because of the perch hole defects.

Very cute and easy to paint and then varnish as it will be used outside. However the little peg for the bird(s) to perch on wouldn’t quite fit into the hole and when I forced it the wood split. It is very light balsa type wood. Nevertheless the paint and varnish is holding it together and already someone has gone inside and eaten all the bird nectar powder I placed in there. The hole is big enough for a lorikeet to fit through but it is maybe a bit cramped inside. Smaller than I thought.
