Rotary 12657 Starter Recoil Assembly Replaces Tecumseh Replaces 590749, 590749A, 590789

I purchased this to replace the recoil on an Arians snow blower with a Tecumseh 10 hp Snow King motor. This is supposed to be a general replacement for most recoils but it did not work for my motor. The dogs or cams that swing out to engage the crank shaft were too short. The metal is light gauge and the spool is plastic but would have made an affordable replacement to the original recoil.

Replaced an old pull starter for my craftsman snow blower. This worked well and was reasonably priced for the old clunker.Used it a couple times so far this year and no issues. Not sure how long it will last.... We'll see

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased this starter. The started cord is made from a "Boot Lace". I'm not kidding, I have the same laces in my Pac Boots. I did not install this starter recoil but just returned it. I was lucky to find a OEM Craftsman Recoil Starter on Amazon.

Recoil for a snowblower fit alright, but broke after thirty pulls. Problems started at pull number twenty-five. Thirty day guarantee, so I am out of luck it seems as I bought it in August 2016 to prepare for winter and my thirtieth pull did not occur until late December or early January of 2017. I will pay more the next time in hopes of getting a better product and a better warranty.

Product fit ok but was made poorly, mostly cheap plastic with a thin metal housing. After using it maybe 8 times at most it broke.
