The Real Stuff
Wow, I lived in Myanmar for 5 years and got addicted to this stuff, had friends smuggle it into the country when I moved back because I couldn't find it here - (USA had a trade embargo on Myanmar imports) - apparently the trade embargo has been lifted because this is really from Myanmar and is completely authentic, aside from the fact that in Myanmar it's ALOT spicier, but this is for American tastes, you can add your own chilies. For all of you Lahpet junkies, you can finally get your fix! For all of you who have never had fermented tea leaves, this is a taste sensation that you shouldn't miss.

This is a great way for me to have it at home
Ok, I'm addicted to Fermented tea leaf salad from Burma Superstar in SF. This is a great way for me to have it at home. I love it. It's fresh and tastey and easy to assemble into a salad with your own tomatoes/lettuce/ lemon juice. Yum!Also, since I bought two they put an extra in the box for me. Great suprise! This is a 5-star product to me.My only compaint ( and this may be with Amazon) is that once I bought it for $4.95 a box, now when I go to re-order it, the price goes up to $8.95. Big shift! Almost double. Not cool.

BooHoo Not very good
Really disappointed. I anticipated the real thing as I had purchased in San Francisco. Neither the sauce nor the additional crunchies came close to the original. Would have sent it back if I hadn't chucked the receipt. I promise you I'm not usually a complainer

The real thing!
I am fortunate enough to live near their restaurant, the YoMa, in Brighton MA, and have not only had the salad at the restaurant, but also at home have a jar of the fermented tea itself. The salad is easy to make at home, and particularly with a kit, it's a no-brainer. I've tried fermenting the tea myself from scratch, using green tea, and it's so-so, but this stuff from YoMa knocks it out of the park. I must add, though, that I always include crispy fried garlic and lots of Thai chilis. Highly recommended!

Good quality but expensive
Good quality authentic product, but expensive. My Burmese tea leaf salad (Lephet Thok) turned out well.
