Large and colourful display
A larger display than I was expecting which is no bad thing as it can clearly be seen from a distance. This weather station appears under various brand names on Amazon and elsewhere, basically they are sourced from China with a brand name of the buyers choice added (this one is made by Fanju Technology), so worth checking Amazon for other brands of this same one as it might be cheaper and will be identical except for the brand name.A lot of the images and photos taken do not do justice to the display, often looking washed out. Note that the display is definitely better viewed looking down at it, rather than having it at eye level or higher. Looking up at the unit the display will become hard or impossible to read.Supplied with a UK power supply which is required for permanent illumination. I've checked the power consumption and it uses so little it doesn't register, so less than 0.1 watt so you will not notice any change to your electricity bill. It will run without mains power using 2 AA batteries but the lit display will go dark, however it is still possible in a well lit room to see the display, and touching the top will turn on the back light for 15 seconds when on battery power. Even if plugged in, use the batteries anyway as this will provide backup power should the mains go out or you wish to move it, and it will not reset itself. The radio clock works on the UK MSF signal, and in my case it quickly picked up the time in a couple of minutes, although reception will vary for everyone and it may take longer to acquire the time.A negative (hence only 4 star), the pressure reading can not be adjusted for relative pressure (many weather stations allow adjustment by dialling in height above see level but not this one), this isn't very good as it means the pressure it reports will not be accurate for most people due to being higher than sea level, and the pressure will not match weather observations seen online or in forecasts. The weather forecast graphics shouldn't be taken too seriously, its as accurate as a barometer on the wall, and it changes the graphics based on the pressure trend, so even though the actual pressure reading number will be inaccurate due to not being adjustable for altitude, this doesn't affect how the forecasting works, it will be as accurate, or rather as inaccurate, regardless. Also the graphics predict the weather in the next 12 to 24 hours, it isn't suppose to show what the weather is doing right now.The outdoor sensor, like all of these type of weather stations, is not waterproof. They must be put outside and sheltered so that rain can not fall directly on it. Complaints of the outside sensor failing or humidity stuck at 99% are almost always because water has got into the unit.So a nice little weather station, I can imagine children will like it, especially when it forecasts snow (which will happen when the outdoor sensor sees temperatures close or below freezing and it would be forecasting rain, where it then switches to show snow).

Absolutely brilliant!
We were sick of the TV weather people & phone apps all with different predictions of what the weather would be like.9/10 they were always wrong so we decided to purchase this & honestly, I am more than happy. I have the sensor unit attached to my kitchen window outside & I've the main unit is on a lamp table for all to see. It's easy to read, clear to see from a distance & it's just perfect.Buy it, you won't regret it!

Not as good as I hoped
Accurate on inside and outside temperatures, but the information for the weather is taken about 200miles away,so that's not a lot of use, other than that overall very pleased. At first the remote sensor stopped working,I replaced the batteries, then stopped with a few days, it wouldn't connect to the base station, luckily I had a spare one from another unit that I had replaced,it picked up the sensor immediately .So hense the three stars.

Overall an excellent unit
This weather station was easy to set up and the external sensor and the clock both connected by radio within a few minutes of inserting the batteries. The unit can be powered from a USB adapter so can easily be run off a 12v USB adapter for use in a motorhome or caravan.Compared to 4 other household digital home thermometers, placed adjacent to each other, I found that the temperature and humidity readings on this weather station were about 0.2 °C and 1% in error respectively. There is an option for displaying C or F and also the date or sunset time in the bottom corner. There is also provision for setting remote temperature alarms provided the external sensor is located in a protective housing such as the Dostmann 98.1114.02 Case For Sensor also available on Amazon – it is not very waterproof on its own.My main gripes:1. On my previous weather station pressing the top button 4 times switched the display off at bedtime. On this unit I have to feel round the side of the unit and hope that I select the correct button and similarly have to press it 4 times. The top button is useful for checking the time at night and the display goes of in a few seconds, which is convenient. Having said that, the buttons on the side are more practical than on the back when wall mounting like most previous units that I have owned.2. The other issue, mentioned by other buyers, is there is no barometer compensation button, only absolute, but it is a simple sum to add the local difference if known.3. The display is much better viewed from above than below which might determine the best location for it.4. Casing is black only, no option in white.Overall, an excellent unit which, I considered, was quite good value but I notice that the price has increased by 20% since I purchased it a few months ago.

Great for what it is
Obviously (well, hopefully) not a top-tier weather station - the only "storage" is last 24hr barometricpressure on the unit itself and you're not getting any wind measurements, but was easy to set up(the manual has very tiny writing), has a vibrant display, and although the radio-controlled time elementdoesn't work for me that's certainly a minor issue.Has alarms including temperature high and low. measures temperature and humidity inside and out(via the remote sensor - mine is in a little pot with holes in to keep rainfall out but air in) and althoughthe manual does point out that a professional weather forecast would take priority over the displayedprediction you can alter the picture manually if you want to.Overall a quality "clock with weather elements" and after a couple of days in seems pretty bulletproof -the main unit takes 2 AA batteries in case the power goes out - also shows the phase of the moon. Nice!
