Although I bought this kit a while back, I just used it last week. I replaced my existing chain. Sometimes while working on my bicycle, I would take the chain off for cleaning. Sometimes the master links would very hard to remove. Since then it has been a breeze.Since I have begun to ride again, it will be included in my to go toolkit, (you’ll never know when it will come in handy my bike or someone else’s.

Easy to use vs. by hand with needle nose plyiers. Put on a new master link in a flash. Ruined a new master link trying to do it on by hand with needle nose. Just the pliers are worth it.$$

The plier is made of thin material with the handles wrapped in what feels to me hard plastic. Although it did work on my son's 1x11 speed mountain bike chain, squeezing it to unlock/lock a chain-link can get uncomfortable on your hands. The chain-wear guide isn't bad as far as build, but I still have yet to find out how accurate it is. I haven't used any of the links but they appear to be of decent quality. As one might expect for tools at this budget price range, this kit is best suited for home use or the occasional bike repair. The build quality is not for heavy duty or professional shop use.

As the wait to repair bikes has gotten so long, I decided to test and replace the chain on my wife's bike. The tester told me it was time and the links and plier were most of what I needed. I also needed the tool to push one of the old chain links off of the new chain as it was a little too long. Be careful to count the rear sprockets in ordering the correct chain size. Clearly, too long is better than too short.

My grandson's bike chain broke right at the beginning of summer. With the virus at its peak we were unable to go anywhere to purchase a new one. I ordered this repair kit, it came in two days, and it took my son 15 minutes to have the chain repaired and my grandson happily riding down the driveway. No problems since. The product was well made, included everything needed for the repair, and was easy to use.

if you're working on a bike chain this is an indispensable tool that makes opening and closing coupling links very easy.

better quality than i expected.. looks cheep and flimsy like dollar store tool.. BUT its not.. if your a hobby bike mechanic do yourself a favor and get one of these.. i used to struggle with different types of pliers to open master links.. this is so much easier.... links are ok quality..

Sturdy, effective chain link remover. Did the job very easily and beats the DIY techniques that are fiddly to get a quick link removed. Definitely worth the investment if you want a quick and easy way to remove a bicycle chain.

Well it works as described. Doesn't feel cheap and easily take apart my chain and put it back together.
