I purchased these to add to my boat. I used a hole saw and a drimmel to elongate the opening and have already been using it on the river!!

No bottom to hold water.
Has no bottom in it. Water will get into kayak body. Had to seal with silicone.

Description was vague! I'm sure these are perfectly fine rod holders, however if you are planning on placing these on a kayak, avoid! They do not have sealed bottoms and especially if you will be out in the ocean as I am, these will definitely not work.
