The real deal. Bubbly probiotic goodness.
Okay this is some good water kefir. I'm no expert, this is my 1st go at making my own water probiotic. But this stuff was very cost effective and beginner friendly. This keifer came with a filtered bag, very clear "care for" directions. I did watch a few YouTube videos so I kinda had an idea of what to expect. But if I was going in blind, this kit would have every thing needed to get started. I started off with 1/4 of a cup of grains, and I already have like a cup and a half of the water kefir grains. And I've only been at it for a month. My grains are healthy and growing well. I got a chance to read some of the negative reviews of how people were saying that the grains were very tiny and seeping right through the filter. I can confirm that this is true. I started off with some big chunky bits but as the kefir began to grow they grew into these little tiny things that would definitely seep through a regular filter. Because I read this negative review I was able to get ahead of it by buying a tea filter (Finum Reusable Stainless Steel Coffee and Tea Infusing Mesh Brewing Basket, Large) It was no problem draining the liquid using this tea filter and I was able to retain a lot of the culture and not lose it by drinking it all. I included a video where I put the water kefir grains in coconut water, molasses, baking soda and sugar. I'm almost positive that was probably wrong. Moving forward I always kept the water kefir grains in (just water sugar baking soda and molasses), then I did half and half of whatever I wanted to flavor with. So I would do 1cup keifer runoff to 1cup of fruit juice, I found the measurements work good for coconut water as well. So one cup of coconut water to one cup of water kefir, and that is how I made coconut water kefir to keep the integrity of the grains. I did this because I did notice the grains were a little lethargic after I had put directly in coconut water so decided not to do that moving forward. I wish I could have added another video of the end product. My probiotics soda was bubbling it was perfect like coconut soda, has a taste of beer plus what ever flavor added. My favorite recipe YOU MUST TRY is squeeze the juice of lemon and blueberry to make (1 cup of blueberry lemon juice) to (1cup of RUN OFF) of water keifer not into grains. Let ferment for 2 days then put in the fridge for 2days then drink. Cheers bubbly goodness.

The best kefir grains I have tried
These grains are very healthy and resilient. I have used many kefir grains from different suppliers and these are by far the best. Big, orange/brown grains set these apart from the pale yellow crumbs other sellers pass off as water kefir grains. They make very carbonated kefir that is not overly sweet, and has a nice mellow fermented flavor. The 2nd ferment very thoroughly ferments and predigests the cup or less of fruit/2 quarts given. It doesn't taste sweet, even when very sweet fruits are used. That small amount of fruit will make 2 quarts of very flavorful kefir. If you like tart and anti oxidant berries try blueberry, blackberry, or black raspberry. Try pineapple or passion fruit if you like tropical flavors. I have cared for them very carefully and gotten amazing results, but there have been times when I have gotten busy and neglected them and was always surprised to see how fast they recover. Realistically, there will probably be days you don't get to it on time and its good to know they can survive. These grains come with very detailed and convenient instruction cards.

Fermented heaven
Big fan! I followed the great directions and am enjoying the results. I hate milk so this was a wonderful alternative. Tastes like light apple cider.

Very Good Kefir water grains
These water kefir grains are by far the best grains I’ve purchased thus far. If you follow the instructions provided within the package , your grains will produce a very good Kefir water and will multiply with time.

Dead grains and no response from company
1. Product arrived damaged. Only packed in envelope. Contacted them. They requested pics. After sending those,They replaced it. 2. While waiting for my second shipment to arrive, tried using the damaged grains. They were dead. Figured it was from being damaged but was worth the try. 3. The replacement grains were dead. Used berky water, florida crystals, briar black strap molasses. Nothing. No ferment, no new floaters, no growth even after 5 days. 4. Contacted seller again. NO RESPONSE. For reference, I bought from this company 5 years ago. Back then the grains were awesome. the results i had years ago were double growth, high fermentation. In fact I was able to use the same grains for a couple years. When I moved into rv while I got my house set on a farm I just bought, I stopped doing the grains. I decided to start again, so I ordered a new batch expecting the same results I had in the past..... these grains they sent are dead. I could understand mistakes happen, the reason for the 1 star? NO RESPONSE.

Price has gone up but the grains are okay.
These grains never really grow for me after a while, so I have bought several batches over the years. The price had gone up pretty steeply since my last purchase. Still good grains and make good Water Kefir. If you taste it often, you can leave just enough sweetness to not need a second ferment for flavoring. If you do use a fruit juice as a flavoring...I recommend Tangerine juice. Out of this world! As an aside, I would really like to see an analysis of the cultures present in this kefir at the end of 1st ferment.

Works for making water kefir at home.
New to water kefir, but trying to avoid $4/single serving bottle from grocery. I have made dairy kefir in past. I am using a 1/2 gallon ball jar(bought a set of 4 on Amazon for this purpose). I am cycling twice/week for fermentation time. It is a little bland/sour and adding some flavor helps palatability. The grains themselves seem healthy/productive. I have been doing this for 10 weeks and have not seen a significant increase in size or population of the grains. I bought 4 jars in case the grains grew and I needed to split the starter, but that has not occurred yet.
