Suncast 73 Gallon Medium Deck Box, Resin Outdoor Storage Box, Mocha Brown

1. PROBLEM I WAS TRYING TO SOLVE: I needed a durable storage solution for our patio that could handle all types of weather and keep things dry and organized. It also had to be lightweight enough to move around when needed and offer ample space for patio cushions and gardening tools. 2. DID IT SOLVE THE PROBLEM? Absolutely. After 3 years, the Suncast 73-Gallon Medium Deck Box has far exceeded my expectations. Through heavy storms, relentless sun, and even snow, it has kept everything inside completely dry and protected. 3. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: This box is versatile beyond just storage. We’ve used it as an extra seat on the patio during gatherings, and it’s surprisingly sturdy. The mocha brown finish blends seamlessly with our outdoor decor, making it functional and stylish. Despite being lightweight, the resin material is impressively weather-resistant and holds up to wear and tear. 4. WOULD I PURCHASE AGAIN? Without a doubt. After 3 years of constant use, it’s still in great shape. It’s rare to find outdoor furniture that performs this well through all the elements, so I’d happily buy another if needed. 5. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: This deck box has been a lifesaver for outdoor organization. Whether storing patio cushions, gardening tools, or even some pool toys, it keeps everything neat and dry. I’ve been impressed with its durability and how easy it is to maintain. 6. FINAL THOUGHTS: If you’re looking for a lightweight, weather-resistant, and reliable storage solution, the Suncast 73-Gallon Medium Deck Box is an excellent choice. It’s a great investment for anyone who wants to keep their outdoor space organized while also having the option for extra seating. 7. TIPS FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS: • Make sure to place it on level ground to keep it stable if you plan to use it as a seat. • If you live in a particularly windy area, you might want to secure it, as it’s lightweight enough to shift in extreme conditions. • Regularly wipe down the exterior to keep it looking new, and consider adding a small lock if storing valuables. This deck box has been an outdoor essential for us, and I highly recommend it to anyone needing reliable storage that stands up to the elements!

This is a perfect size for my patio storage. I was surprised at how easy it is to put together. It is sturdy and roomy. Seems to be waterproof. The lock is quite flimsy, but I believe it can be upgraded with a little thought to it. Great purchase.

I ordered this deck box to store seasonal decorations and tools that I use in my front yard and on the front porch. It holds so much! It really is waterproof and looks great! It's sturdy, the pieces fit together perfectly and it has stood up to several Pacific Northwest rain storms - keeping the contents totally dry. I have dark brown 'wicker' furniture on my deck and this goes very nicely with that. It's definitely sturdy enough for an above average weight adult, (over 200 lbs), or two average sized teenagers, to sit on safely and comfortably. I will be ordering a second deck box for my back yard to hold bar-b-que tools, outdoor dishes, etc., and also for extra seating. I ordered a much smaller version of this for our front porch, to hold shoes and it also looks great although the sides don't come together quite as tightly as they do on this 73 gallon version - no leaks so far on that one either. In summary, it looks great, functions great and the price is great. Fast, free delivery and easy to assemble - you need two people to put it together just to hold the pieces in proper alignment. Enjoy!

This deck box is the perfect size to hold 4 thick chair cushions with backs, and there is still room to spare. It keeps everything dry even with 5 days of strong rain. The lid stays secure even with swirling wind. The assembly was very simple for 1 person. The price was great for what you you get. The appearance is nice, but the unit is still plastic, so don't expect it to look like real wicker, but then again real wicker would not keep the contents dry. I recommend this deck box for the average price conscious person.

I am so pleased with this deck box, and with the price, also, which was less than any I've seen in Lowe's or Home Depot (haven't actually seen this exact model, and most that I have found are not nearly as attractive and are considerably more costly). I ordered the smaller of the two sizes, which turns out to be quite ample for holding all my pool supplies, and then some! Assembly was a breeze, and I was able to do it without assistance. It is light enough to then move into place from the place on my deck where I assembled it. It has been there ever since, which is now about 5-6 months. While I wouldn't be expecting people to sit on it on a regular basis, I notice that it easily accommodates my 150-pound frame. We had quite a bit of wind and rain here in NJ with hurricane Sandy, and my deck box remained dry, stationary, and undisturbed in any way. The top locks securely and all the contents have remained clean and dry. It will be interesting to see how well the dark brown coloring weathers a winter or two, but so far this delightful deck box looks terrific and I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. Update: The above review was written several years ago. Now, in Feb 2020, I've owned it for about 8 years, and it is still both functional and presentable in appearance. I highly recommend the Suncast Deck Box if you're looking for a product that will look good, last long, and do what it's supposed to do - keep contents secure and dry! Kudos to the Suncast company for creating a great product.

I did some research and found this box to be the best value and just the right size. I have this on my front porch to accept deliveries so that passers by are not tempted to grab my packages. I buy almost all my stuff online and needed a big enough box for all those Amazon packages. It is very easy to assemble as long as you follow the simple instructions. It was tempting to just go for it and not read the instructions but I read that some people jumped the gun and ended up snapping together the sides before the bottom and were screwed (hehe you know who you are). It took about 15 minutes to assemble and is very sturdy. It is slightly raised off the ground so that it is not sitting in water if it rains. You can sit on it even though the lid is slightly curved to keep water from settling on top. It also has a metal latch you can add a lock to it although a small opening would only allow a luggage lock. I did not want wood as it would rot and I did not want something that looked cheap, this box fit the bill nicely. It is plastic but the weave from a distance is good enough that it does not look like a cheap plastic box. For the price and size, this is hard to beat. I am very happy with the purchase and would buy again.

I'm writing this in December 2018 and bought it back in 2014. I was recommending a deck box to a friend and looked up the one we bought on Amazon. I couldn't believe it was 4 years ago! I figured I've got to write a review because it's been a fantastic item and is as good as new 4 years later. The deck box came with all the necessary parts and pieces and easy to follow instructions. It was like a snap-together toy for adults and putting it together was straightforward and satisfying (you feel like you "built" something while all you did was an adult-sized snap-together project LOL!). The quality of this deck box is superb. It has held up to North-East coastal weather extremes - snow, sleet, ice and rain in the winter and heat, sun and humidity in the summer (we're a little over a mile off the coast). It sits outdoors on a porch and keeps everything inside it nice and dry. Our deck box gets a lot of use, is opened and closed daily and has held up really well. It has these sturdy plastic strips inside the lid that keeps the lid from opening too far and falling backwards. They serve a great function and have held up nicely as well. The basket weave pattern is pleasant and classy. It does not look cheap at all, which it easily could have. The brown color (they call it "mocha") is a dark brown color that goes well with a brick and concrete porch. It looks and functions exactly as it did the day we put it together which is simply fantastic. I highly recommend this to anyone considering a deck box.

I read some mixed reviews on this item, but I am very happy I bought it. I needed something for pool hoses, cleaners, etc. When I received it put it together without anyone's help. Pretty easy. Instructions were easy to follow and the parts that snapped together are snug as a bug. All parts fit well together and I was not missing any parts. This deck box is very sturdy and has not leaked with all the rain we have had as of late. I am not storing cushions in mine, but you could if you wanted to. My husband and I have priced deck boxes for a few years. I wanted onelarge enough to house lots of pool supplies, one that was attractive yet sturdy, and one with a price that wouldn't break the bank. I got all that and more with this box. I have read that some people have let others use it as a place to sit. While I am not doing that, I do feel it would support probably up to 150 or 160 poundswithout a problem. But, if I allow some people to sit on it then I open that option up to others who may weigh more and might then break it. So, at my house, no one is permitted to sit on it! If you are looking for a large deck box, I truly think you would be happy with this particular box.

When I started searching for outdoor storage (to stash my huge Christmas tree on my balcony), I could not believe how expensive these boxes were. It's crazy that 6 pieces of plastic could cost so much money but I suppose it's the cost of holding a huge item like this. My main requirements for this box was that it keeps out rain and insects. Over the few weeks I've had this box, we've had crazy amounts of wind & rain and there is no evidence of water seeping inside. Judging from the construction of the box, it does not appear possible for an insect to get inside - there just are no gaps for them to seep into. While assembling the box, I constantly thought that it was garbage-quality (their instructions are pretty useless) and that there was no way this would look nice... but now that it's assembled, it actually looks very nice feels substantial. It is crucial to understand the instructions and make sure everything is aligned properly when building this box. This particular box is very aggressively priced compared to the competition but I have found it to be very sturdy and attractive. --Edit-- It's been over a year and a half. No problems at all with this box. It has kept our Christmas Tree dry and absolutely fine. It worked so well, I purchased a second one to store random clutter around our home on the balcony. --Edit 2-- It has been about two years now. Still perfect. Added a third one (larger, the same model though) to my hoarder balcony.

Muy buena calidad

Estas son las piezas que no llegaron en el paquete. Estas son piezas de uno que ya habíamos pedido y ya tenemos y que llegó perfecto. Nos gusto tanto que por esta razón pedimos otro, pero llego incompleto.

Well built unit. Put it together in less than 30 minutes. Lid closes tight and keeps the water out. Only issue is with the handles. They have openings into the main part of the box. I found that wasps like to build nests inside as this gives them an avenue to a warm sheltered spot. Easy fix as I put Gorilla tape over the opening on the inside, so I can still use the handles, but the wasps can't get it.

The first box shipped to us was damaged in shipping and an end panel broken, so had to return it. The replacement was not damaged, not too difficult to assemble, but not as high quality as expected, top panel doesn`t sit well, but it should work.
