I love these things! I installed two hinges (top and bottom) on our three-hinge front door, and left the original middle hinge alone. They were super easy to install, and the only comment I have about that is that the radius of the hinges was a little bigger than the radius on the original hinges, which slightly affected the door closure (it bumped into the door jam), so I took the top hinge off and sanded down the area of the door jam it screwed to (essentially just pulling the door closer to the hinge side) and it works like a dream. This is likely a problem specific to our door, as it already had a bit of a sticky closure. They’re very easy to adjust, so that the tension is just right. My kids kept leaving the front door open, and now they can’t. I’m thrilled!

In summary, these hinges are very sturdy with a very good amount of adjustability in the spring tension. My friends purchased a funky Geodesic Dome home and commissioned me to build a custom half door to block their dogs from going up to the third floor. I used these spring loaded hinges instead of using a conventional door handle to keep the door closed. You can vary the spring load to match the door weight. I loaded the springs with the least amount of tension and they worked perfectly. The hinges came with a number of different installation screws all of which seemed too short for me so I ended up using longer screws, which is the only reason I gave 4 stars for sturdiness. Otherwise, they are tough, tough, tough hinges. (Don't mind the picture of my leg in the short video included.)

We’d ordered other hinges first but they didn’t fit our old doors. These fit! And they work as we’d hoped. We used one hinge on a door that goes into our garage that often got let open, and another hinge on our patio door that also never seemed to want to close. These doors now close gently, and all the way, without shaking the windows. Would buy again if the need ever arises.

I used this brand to replace 19-year door springs that stopped working. The finish on this product is not as good as my old hinges. It has a matte finish and not shiny. This product is lighter in color and weighs less than my old hinges. You get plenty of hardware screws for the hinges. Short machine screws for the door side of the hinge and longer wood screws for the frame side of the hinge or enough hardware to use either all wood screws or all machine screws. The instructions were clear, but you must tighten the spring all the way to get maximum door closing force. Also, if you are on the inside facing the door, and your hinges are on your left side, you must tighten the spring using the Allen wrench, to your left. This is if the Allen wrench hole is on the top side (towards the ceiling) of the hinge. I think the product should have a little more closing force but may make turning the spring harder. The pin, silver color and not the color of the hinge, has a lip so it's easy to grab and insert or pull when adjusting the tension spring (they call it the Tension Stop Pin, TSP).

They were the correct size and I was able to easily replace the old hinges. The included tools for setting the tension were well made and strong enough to wind the spring tight enough to close the door.

Ever have one of those people in your household who cannot seem to remember to CLOSE a bathroom door? Yep that was my house. These hinges fit great, the screws are a good length and the closer works. Problem solved. Now if they just had one that automatically put the toilet seat down my wife would be happy too.

I wanted these for two doors that occasionally get left open by kids. The first went on great. The second stripped while adjusting it at the top, making it impossible to tighten it as much as I would like. Now I am ordering a replacement (going with a different brand with more feedback).

I would recommend this for most people's homes specially if they have pets or do you want to make sure that their door closes behind them this would be a worthwhile thing to have
