Both of these organisms are widespread, common etiologic agents of this syndrome which appears as a mild, self-limiting disease involving the trachea and bronchi of dogs of any age. The disease is highly contagious and is transmitted via the airborne route.Both of the organisms in NARAMUNE-2 are avirulent so that they can be safely administered intranasally with little or no symptoms of disease. By instilling these organisms into the nasal passages, it becomes possible for these agents to infect target cells of the nasal-pharyngeal region, mimicking the pathogenesis of natural field infection. A very small percentage of dogs may show sneezing, coughing or nasal discharge for 3-10 days following vaccination.
