Much Better Than Expected
I used Lenmar for my iPhone 4, so I eagerly waited for them to release a version for the iPhone 5. While I waited, I took the risk and purchased the Maxboost Fusion Detachable External iPhone 5 Battery Case. The first Maxboost broke within 3 weeks and the replacement they sent (great customer service) broke 3 days later when I dropped it. (2nd was my fault) I decided to go with another brand and then saw the Lenmar was finally available.I have now owned this since August 13th and I have experienced zero problems. The battery life is actually more than expected. I do a lot of hiking and leave my GPS running on my phone so I can have a GPS record of my hikes. After 7 hours, the phone was still at 100% and the phone was showing a blue LED (roughly 25-50% charge left)Likes:Solid case provides decent protectionVERY long battery life for my usageComfortable to holdDislikes:Adds a little bit of bulk, but that is expected with battery caseCharging does take a little longer than I expected, but I charge it overnight, so not an issue for me.I saw an earlier post where someone mentioned the top part breaking for them. I make no judgment, but mine slides into place smooth as silk. If I do not have it aligned properly, there will be a little bit of resistance and I know to realign. My top piece is not flimsy at all. In fact, it is hard plastic that barely flexes.Lenmar might be a lesser known name than Mophie, but if they continue to make quality cases, that might change. Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you appreciate this case as much as I do.

Compromising form for functionality
I've been using this case for a few days now, and so far, I'm pretty happy with it. I've never had a battery case before, so the extra weight still feels a bit unwieldy to me, but nothing I can't get used to. I haven't looked at the numbers, but I'd guess that this case adds at least 50% to the weight of the phone, which is pretty substantial, not to mention the extra depth and a little bit of extra length. Again, nothing that can't be adjusted to, but something to keep in mind.As for performance, I've been very happy with this battery case. I actually recently replaced the battery in my phone recently and so I haven't needed to depend on this case as the source for the majority of my battery life, but it seems to charge the phone very quickly without using much of its power reserves. My one complaint with the battery maintenance is that, after charging the case with the phone attached, the case will automatically remain in a "charging" state until turned off. This means that I must remember to stop charging the phone after unplugging the phone. Not a crazy inconvenience, just a weird quirk.I have a few complaints about the case aesthetics:1) The 3.5mm audio jack is very difficult to reach. They accounted for this by providing a ~3 inch adapter that can reach the jack easier, but I honestly don't want to carry they're bulky adapter around to use my headphones.2) The case doesn't reach around the front of the phone much at all. This means that, if you set the phone face-down on a table, it will be resting on the phone's screen rather than the edge of the case. This doesn't affect me much because I use a nice glass screen protector, but could be a concern for others. I'm assuming they did this because they've already added so much bulk to the back of the case that they wanted to minimize any further bulk added to the phone.3) I got the gold color of this case, and contrary to what is listed on the Amazon description, it is NOT a rubberized matte texture like the black version. I don't know if this is Amazon's fault or Lenmar's fault, but this is basically false advertising and is pretty disappointing for me because I greatly prefer the rubberized feel over a glossy plastic. I have a white phone, so I didn't want to get the black color even though I wanted the rubberized finish. This is the primary reason I deducted two stars from this product. The glossy plastic isn't bad, but it certainly doesn't add anything to the case and doesn't help me hold onto my hefty phone.4) If you keep the phone in the case all the time (as most people will), you will have to downgrade from the lighting connector to USB Micro-B as your daily charging port. Pretty unfortunate to give up the really nice connector, but something I can accept as a necessary compromise.Despite these complaints, I would still recommend this case to anyone looking for a practical case to address the iPhone's poor battery life (one if its greatest shortcomings). It's not aesthetically perfect, especially with the compromises on the audio & charging ports, but the extra functionality will be very useful.

Absolutely love it but stopped charging after 1 month
My iphone was constantly dying. I tried external batteries and they also never seemed to work when I needed them. I charge it with a micro USB cable and it charges both the charger and the iPhone. Now I go through a whole day without my battery dying. The only downside is that it doesn't work with my lighting attachments I.e like my clock/stereo that used to charge my iphone and play music. But I don't think you can find a battery pack/case that you charge with a lightening cable.Update: it stopped charging after 1 month. I'm sending it in for warranty replace. That's a pain. Very disappointed.

excellent build quality
Lovely design, excellent build quality. Fits perfectly onto the iphone5 and is easy to put on and take off. The case has a Matt finish and feels 'rubbery' to the touch so is comfortable to hold. My iPhone has all its power consuming options turned off but the case extends its battery life to about 12 hours so not quite as much as I anticipated.
