NP student, very satisfied
So far, I have been very pleased with this book. I am still in the last semester of an NP program, but I have been using this book to supplement my required text and it has been very helpful. On the advice of my preceptor, I bought this set because I wanted to have a reference to refer to as I start my career next year. I really can't compare this to anything else, but after looking at reviews for this text and Harrison's, I leaned towards this one because it was quite a bit cheaper than Harrison's and seemed to offer the same material. After my books arrived, I scratched off the code for online access and have not had any trouble whatsoever accessing the book through the inkling application. The only criticism I can offer at this point is that the layout of the online feature makes it a little tough at times to find things, but this is really not a big deal. For the money and ability to access the entire book from anywhere online, I think this is an incredible value.

As usual a Gold Standard.
This is the baby. I as a PCP each 10 years get a new one. It has to be paper. But now I see my eyes can't easily see the prints but I use light and can read it. It is awsome . This book is like a friend. In the most difficult times you ask him a question and he tells you the story with new twists and I feel so good with it. I am planning to do a fast read of treatments first (as usual ) then go back and do cover to cover and also ask questions in between. I never get tired of it. I throughly hate this on line crap they have started with Internal Medicine books. In one study they compared people who read newspaper on line vs paper . People who read the paper retained the knowledge better. This Example could also translate to these books and I encourage new interns and residents to get the paper.

Better than Harrison's.
So. I purchased these because of something relatively stupid to most, but a big deal to me. I have a current 2 volume copy of Harrison's. Well one day I decided that I needed to find something regarding AST/ALT patho physiology and read something interesting in Harrison's. The text reads " The liver is the largest organ of the body". Hmmm. I was a bit confused because I was under the assumption that it was the integumentary system, skin specifically. Well turns out that Harrison's is wrong. Well that did it for me. From that point on I will always wonder if anything I read in Harrison's was correct. The cecil volumes are awesome and well worth the money. I am currently a PA student and use them on a daily basis. Very detailed, yet to the point. I highly recommend them. You won't be dissapointed.

An Excellent Textbook even for the 2016 World!!
One of the few remaining necessary medical volumes!!This is a highly organized solid internal medicine textbook that is still so well done!Good high quality text, excellent graphs, tables, and color to enjoy.I still think the print is a bit too uncomfortably small, but it would be three volumes, I guess, if any larger.Medical subjects and classifications stay in one's mind better if you see it in a well designed table, I think...Digital and E book programs have their place, but this on the bookshelf is still very worthwhile and fairly priced too!

Great core medical text
I needed an up to date central medical text and this one is great and easy to read. Glad they split it into two books otherwise it would be to heavy to carry. Great book to have in your medical library.

Delivered on time
Combined with Harrison's, Goldman-Cecil Medicine are the gold standard for internal medicine reference.

Very disappointed.
Bought the book, which states ' Please note that your purchase of this Elsevier eBook also includes access to an online version'. After going through the registration process to get access to the web version, turns out you only have access to 5 random chapters of the book. If you want the rest of the chapters, you have to pay $29.99. The instructions should be changed to read 'Please note that your purchase of this Elsevier eBook DOES NOT include full access to the web version'. Very disappointed.
