For the price, this lighter was a great choice! The flex neck stays in place when adjusted where other brands slowly move back into a different position. The safety switch is on the back and is in the proper position when lighting the lighter with your thumb. Some complain that the switch may be a little stiff to operate. I disagree. The switch moves just like any other lighter out there and doesn't require too much force. My wife can light the million candles in our house without an issue. The flame adjustment knob is firm and allows for the perfect range of flame height. With the strongest flame, I can easily light up the campfire. The lighter also has a nice loop on the end that allows you to hang it out of reach of the kids, but keep it easily accessible. This is a great product and while I was skeptical about the firm switch, I'm glad I purchased it to find out it's just right. Update: After some extended heavy use, the switch on the product has gotten stiffer. I'm surprised to see this happen, but it has become more difficult to operate. We've refilled many times and have gotten a lot of use out of this lighter, but it's starting to show its wear. I give this product 2 years before needing replacing.
