Tool works great.
This is a great tool for crimping cable ends. Easy to use and good quality.

Works great but the die sizes are wrong
Works great but... for a good 2/0 crimp I had to use a 1/0 die. After crimping with 2/0 die, the lug would literally slide ride off the wire with almost zero pressure.

Makes life easier!!!
Bought this based off price and reviews. Bought for working with battery cables and heavy lugs. Works great, other than the dies being slightly off. I needed to use one die the correct size and one die the next size smaller to get a really tight crimp. And like others have said, it tends to squish the material out and leave a sharp edge. I just spun the cable 90 degrees and crimped down the edge enough so that it was no longer sharp. No leakage, comes with extra o rings, makes the job easy. Would love to give a 5 star, but I just can’t as the dies are slightly off.

Useful tool at a great price
I bought this tool to make battery cables for a road course race car. The cables that I made were with 4 gauge wire and copper lugs. As others have stated, do not rely on the gauge markers on the dies but test the fit over bare wires first. If the dies fit and leave a little room, that is probably the set that you need to crimp your lugs on. I crimped carefully and watched as the dies barely touched and then stopped crimping. I did not want to run into an issue of damaging the tool and my cables turned out beautifully. The price of the tool here was much less expensive than even the discount tool store in town. I am very pleased with my purchase!

Amazing crimper
I am sorry I spent so much money on a non-hydraulic crimper when I first bought the tooling I needed, it was nearly impossible to use, but I purchased this as an alternative and it has performed beyond my wildest dreams. Usually you have to go a gauge down when using Anderson SB connectors (e.g. use the 4 gauge dies for 6 AWG Anderson SB120/PP120 terminals).

Buy something a bit better.
****Be careful **** This unit seemed to be what we needed for twice a year use tool. First use the chuck snapped. Almost smashed me in the face. The unit should have a safety and not be able to put more pressure than the tool can take. I've worked with crimps for the last 30 years. 1/0 gauge, 2,4,8gauge etc...

Works great, good value.
The kit comes with a number of crimping dies. I needed one size for my cable railing system. Works great and a good value. Maybe I wasn't strong enough but I needed to place the tool on a hard surface and press down on the grip to get a good crimp. I was not able to squeeze it with just my two hands. My cable railing system looks great.
