Works great!
It works! I purchased a new monitor and wanted a duel monitor set-up. My computer didn't have the another DVI connector. So my old monitor (HP 2009m) uses the original DVI connector. While my new monitor (AOC e2050Swd 20-Inch Class Screen LED-Lit Monitor) uses the HDMI port with the DVI connector in the back of the monitor.

creates static and other interference
For some reason, I did not read or attend to the comments of other purchasers of this dongle. My experience was similar to theirs, however. At first, there was loud static, but after I further adjusted the audio input cord, that subsided to intermittent static (like an old radio), accompanied by a steady rhythmic pulse. As a "control" in the experiment, I connected the same sets of headphones through another dongle, and experienced none of these problems. So I'm returning this dongle. Fortunately, the return process seems easy.

Works like a charm! I'm a fan!
This just arrived and it perfect! It does the job and I am thrilled.I have a 2003 Samsung DLP TV and suddenly my HD worked but all the other channels didn't work with my Comcast Cable box. I suddenly got "Not Supported Mode" on a blue screen. After checking online I found that this sometimes happens when a gaming device is installed or updated. It triggers something in the cable box, setting the resolution from the acceptable 1080i to something else, like 480 or 720. There were all these "fixes" in my online search with getting into the cable box menu, fooling around with screen resolution, check boxes, remote buttons, etc. Well, my TV is so old that most of the suggested settings were not available for me. Also, I had Comcast out 2 times in 1 week to help me with it and both Techs left me with having to change my output to component 1 or Antenna, depending if I wanted to watch HD or regular, standard stations, which quality is not as good. AND, this was such a hassle, switching all the time, extra remotes and such. I hated it.The 2nd Tech suggested that, since I have a DVI port, to get a HDMI to DVD Adapter Cable and try it. It should work because I have surround sound and don't need the Audio from the TV. In fact, I have it on "0" as it is a bit off from my surround sound and it causes an echo when the TV Audio is on 1 or higher. This is important. I understand that, if you have the Audio coming thru your TV, this fix isn't the way to go as the HDMI has both Audio and Video and the DVI is only Video. You get the picture but not the sound.I got the adapter and I plugged them in and I was good to go. In fact, the HD AND the SD are a LOT better in picture quality, resolution and contrast. All my devices work, gaming, DVD and WII. The only thing is that my SD screen size is limited to Standard (Normal) or Panoramic. I had it on Panoramic anyway so it is perfect.I am glad it worked and this was such an easy and cheap fix. Better than messing up my cable box or purchasing a new TV.

All it needs to do is work, it does!
Regardless of what Monster Cables or anyone that works at BestBuy will tell you, an HDMI cable doesn't need special shielding or any of that nonsense. All it needs is working connectors and a solid line in the cable.- An HDMI cable does not generate heat.- An HDMI cable does not differ in quality regardless of Gold, Platinum, Titanium, or whatever advertised plating. The picture will either be perfect or it will not work. There is no difference in picture quality between cable brands no matter how much money you spend. There are 4 different speed ratings for HDMI cables.- High speed (Category 2) - Maxes out at 1080p (the highest and best HDMI resolution)- Standard speed (Category 1) - Maxes out at 1080i (an ugly version of 1080p)- High speed (Category 2) with Ethernet - Maxes out at 1080p (the highest and best HDMI resolution)- Standard speed (Category 1) with Ethernet - Maxes out at 1080i (an ugly version of 1080p)The only time you need to spend money and worry about the brand and manufacturer quality of a cable is when purchasing a VERY long cable (we're talking 50 feet or more). Because if the actual cables within the rubber housing are not completely linked you can see artifacts on the screen when dealing with these distances.
