Parable of the Sower & Parable of the Talents Boxed Set

My girlfriend loved the books! The artwork and packaging are great additions to this classic work and look great on our library shelf!

A truly treasured set of literature for our home library. The best example of science fiction Afro-futurism writing by one of the greatest in and before her time. Octavia Butler was surely prophetic, provocative and ahead of her time. This two book set, part of her unfinished trilogy, predicts these times and that which seems to be coming. Octavia left us too soon.

I've read only the first book and am hooked. It's not a fun read and at first I wasn't sure I could get into it, but it pulled me right in after a while. I think it's very relevant to the current times and we should pay attention to its messages.

I love this series, so relevant and I figured it was time to have my own copy. The books seem good enough, but unfortunately the cover and box are really flimsy. The box was already coming apart when I opened the package, had to glue it back together. I mainly got this edition for the beautiful artwork, but I'm afraid it won't hold up very well.

This is a beautiful set. Binding is tight, printing is dark and crisp, colors accurate and vivid. Artwork is beautiful and relevant. Size is comparable to a Library of America book but with larger print so the edition makes for a very nice reading copy as well. Introductions are well written if not poetical but not the purchasing draw here. Octavia Butlers writing, of course, is, being amazing and disturbingly prophetic of our times. Highly recommended

I absolutely loved the covers! These are two of my favorite stories by Octavia Butler and they are now beautiful additions to my bookshelves.

The books came in great condition and look awesome. Love the covers totally worth it!
