This is a quality scope. It would be fine with your rifle. It would be best for long range shooting.

Q: Has anyone had any issues with the threading of the sun shade on to the scope itself? Mine is failing to fully seat, maybe 3/32 gap between the two.

No mine snugged right up no issues.
