KMX Cobra Recumbent Trike

My best investment in sports equipment I have done in the last 30 years. Like all wanna be sports enthusiast I have bought from tread mills to dumbbells. I love being outside and my family likes biking too. The problem is that I could never get used to the pain in the rear you have to endure form long bike rides. This bikes offers the exercise and enjoyment of the outdoors with the comfort of your couch (exaggeration a bit). I want to go biking more often now. It takes some getting used to and fine tuning but for now I am extremely happy as you can tell with my new bike.

Once you have a recumbent bike first thing you want is a comfortable seat, it is not a comfortable seat - non surface to seat, getting flat and simply hurts .

After a couple of calls to Utah Trikes, in order to resolve some assembly issues, the trike is roadworthy and performing as advertised.I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Love my trike! I can go almost anywhere on it and it is a blast! I went to the recumbent because of a neck injury and would not go back to the neck wrenching, wrist tweaking crotch numbing upright bike. I can ride for hours comfortably and stop and take in some views, lunch and chill while never leaving the seat.

Ok but tubes arrived out of position and it took a while to figure out. Plan on a long day to assemble. Rear derailleur bracket also bent in transit but I straightened with a vice. But love the trike.

Beware of shipping damage. Mine arrived with a bent chainring, dented frame so bad I couldnt put the trike together. I had to break out my metal working skills to hammer out one tube to be able to insert the boom for the pedals. Multiple other locations bashed. I'm pretty sure a spoke is loose. The Utah Trikes people are great though I was sent a new chain idler since mine was damaged. Great trike just like my venom I ordered years ago, only this time shipping was very bad. They obviously used the box as target practice with a forklift, several times.

My family is very happy with KMX and Utah Trikes. We have several different models of KMX and all of ours do sit low. I appreciate this because of being in a MVA 2 years ago which involved a hip injury that no longer allows me to ride a traditional bike. With this trike I did not need to go to the granny looking one and I prefer sitting reclined so I am able to ride longer distances again. Since the trike sits low and if you plan to ride on the streets you will need to make yourself visible. We have added reflective rim tape, dual headlamps, dual blinking tail lights and a red strobe light attached to the top of the 5' whip flag pole. We are also heard with a lightweight pressurized air horn that blares at 115 db.If you buy a trike like this, plan on spending a few more bucks on adding your custom touches. Shopped for many recumbent trikes, I consider this trike the nicest quality in this price range.

Had the opportunity to ride one of these on some trails last weekend at a State Camp Ground, what a Blast! This thing handles very well on the trails and cruises very nicely on the pavement. It was very comfortable, smooth shifting and seemed to be perfectly geared for my 200lb 6'6" frame. Highly recommend it to anyone looking ot get into a nice Recumbent. Mike :{)
