Does the lever on the lid break off?

No....the lever did not break. But, it is completely worthless and does not keep anything warm, never mind hot. I wrote Amazon to tell the of this major problem and received no response. It's good looking but doesn't do as claimed. Don't buy it.

Don't know its manufacturing site but I do know that this is a worthless carafe. It does not keep coffee or anything else warm; totally worthless and I would not recommend its purchase. Save your money. It looks good but that's it.
