Canon t7i coming soon. Will it fit ?

Seeing as how the T7i will use the same battery as the T6i (LP-E17), I don't see why not, however, they have not updated the Canon website if it is compatible. https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/battery-grip-bg-e18

So if it does not support AA batteries, does it come with the batteries it requires?

The Canon BG-E18 battery grip does not support AA batteries. It holds rectangular Canon LP-E17 batteries that are used with the Canon EOS Rebel T6s or T6i. The camera itself can only hold one of these batteries, but the battery grip uses two of them, thus providing you with more power to shoot for a longer time.

Does the grip add 3 in of height to the camera? What is the total height of a Rebel camera with grip?

Total height of my T6s with grip measured from desk top to top of metal on hot shoe is just under 5 3/4 inches. Let's call it 5 and 11/16 inches total height.
