Hot and Bothered
This was one of my favorite Emily Tilton books yet. She combines the psychology of pleasure and pain into a breathless swirl of submissive yearnings and awakened desires. Her females are always intelligent and independent, even after they've been mastered by the dominant men who love and discipline them. This book in the series dives further into the shadowy organization that is attempting to save the world from the economic collapse they know is ineviteable without their intervention. Judith, caught hacking into the computer program developed by Maia (from book 3), must be brought face-to-face with the secrets she won't admit to herself and the secrets she's keeping from everyone else, before time runs out.It was definitely a one-handed read!

NB: be aware of rape scened
I had fun with the first had of the book. Fun hot dominant sex scenes. But about half way through the book, those sex scene between consenting adults turn into rape. There is no rape warning on this erotica book. Of there were, then fine, some people like to read rape fantasies, that's fine by me, no kink shaming, but for the rest of us, we would like to be able to steer clear of that kind of thing.I'm sorry, bit the fact that we as the reader know that she is turned on, did not make it not rape. She clearly says no, there is no safe word, a group of around men five her to have sex after binding her to the bed. That is rape. It does not matter that she agreed to have sex earlier in the evening...So content warnings: dubcon and rape

Well-written erotica
I struggled with this book. It's unquestionably well-written, and I really liked the premise and world the author is developing with the Praetorian Guard and New Modesty. But I never felt any true affection developing between Judith and Ned, so the romantic element was missing and that made the BDSM feel a little squicky. The primary kink here is gang banging, which often feels devoid of affection anyway, and I didn't feel any here between Judith and the group of four "nymphobus" who were pretty much interchangeable except for their hair and shirt colors. The structure with Judith being closely monitored was good early in the novel, where it made me feel like the Praetorian Guard was taking care of Judith and weren't just putting her through this ordeal for no reason. It was also a nice voyeuristic element. But as the book went on, it became another thing that created distance in the narrative. There's a lot of dubious ethics going on here, and I liked that none of the characters/organizations were wholly morally upright. That made the "justice" of the Praetorian Guard's "punishment" of Judith somewhat tough for me to swallow, however. I also had difficulty believing Judith's growing guilt. She's clear at the beginning that the company she's hacked are not the good guys. I didn't find anything in the course of the novel to change that initial perception, particularly given that the Praetorian Guard don't exactly act ethically: they lure Judith to the island under false pretences, spy on her, commit a number of sexual acts on her with dubious consent and without a safe word, and brainwash her into betraying her employer and committing espionage. There are a lot of shades of grey there and made it tough to like any of the characters.Overall, this is very intellectual erotica, but it left me a little cold.

Hacking crime
An interesting story in which Judith is able to hack into the files of a rival company and steal valuable information. The company she stole from is a proponent of "New Modesty" which is similar to perhaps how men thought of women for centuries prior to the 1960's. As in women are to be taken in hand by their man, however in the New Modesty age women are encouraged to work, but it is also common for women to be shared sexually by her man and those whom he chooses to share her with. Judith has guilt over her cyber crime, but is not certain that she supports the New Modesty ethos. This story explores her journey as she comes to terms with her crime and if she is naughty and should be taken in hand or not.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Island Romance
Shared and Punished by Emily Tilton was well written with an interestingstoryline. Its the fifth book in this series but can be read as a standalone.Judith Grant never expected that her unique skills and new friend wouldland her in so much trouble. She had gone too far and hacked the wrongcompany. The island paradise holiday turned out to be nothing like sheexpected when the man of her dreams had his own agenda.Shy andintrovert,Judith never expected such a handsome man to show interestin her.He set her heart racing and her body on fire.Ned was determinedto teach her a lesson.I enjoyed this book which included secondarycharacters that added depth. This book met all my expectations andthen some.

Bound, gagged, shared, and punished
Very hot and steamy, well written. Wish there was a little more romance development, but I loved the rest of it. The plot with the espionage was interesting too. Maybe I need to read the other books, but I was very confused about the New Modesty and all the universe relevant terms for more than half of the book. That kind of deterred from the enjoyment a little bit.Very excited to read the author's other works.I received an ARC of this work and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
