Motor Guard - Filter Air 1/4 Npt (M30)

Works great.

I originally purchased the m30 motor guard filter for my newly purchased plasma cutter and soon after decided to add on some additional filtration and a dessicant filter for good measure. Ive only operated my Plasma Cutter a few times but so far the motorguard filter remains clean and dry but is meant to catch any dust particles or moisture after the dessicant filter. My one regret is that I didnt purchase the 1/2 inlet hole model instead I got the 1/4. I only say this because the inlet and outlet holes are positioned on the bottom very close to each other which make it akward and difficult to run piping to and from as you can see from the photos. With the 1/2 npt model the connections are on the top and streamlined, all that is needed are 1/2 to 1/4 npt reducers. I could run rubber air hoses directly to it but didnt want to as I need the regulator just after it. I really like the solid all metal construction. I hope this review is helpful to someone

I am the maintenance manager at a commercial print company and we have very expensive equipment that is sensitive to dirty air. We use a air dryer/oil separator on our house air and 3 stage filters at each machine but none of that stops the fine oil mist that gets carried through with the air. The Motor guard filter has a toilet paper roll type filter that stopped all the mist with out reducing air flow. the only thing I don't like is the mounting bracket.the tabs on the housing are tapered so when you tighten the bolts and give it a wiggle the housing slips out of the bracket.

I have seen this product for sale at $40 more, so this was a good price. Motorguard is a top brand, and the best thing about it is a rool of generic toilet paper can substitute for the filter in a pinch. Here is Florida, my compressor pulls a LOT of humidity from the air, and this device really helps a lot.

Some internet searching led me to this filter that has been around for quite sometime. I used a Lowe’s Kobalt filter followed by the M-30. Zero moisture in line for spraying base and clearcoat 👌🏼 💯

Definitely separates water very well. In northern Michigan we get a lot of damp days and have trouble with water in lines . This cures it .

Works well. Filter looks like a roll of toilet paper. I've read people using toilet paper with good results. Plan to try it. Would be alot cheaper. I use it after the water trap and air dryer to keep it dry to last longer. The instructions recommend weekly change of filter. But should last longer for intermittent use.

Great air filter but anyone who knows what these do know that these are one of the best value moisture filters out there. Great product and great service from the seller.
