When all is said and done the charger shuts off and waits until you pop your next battery in. What a great charger. Charges fast, but not so fast as to make your battery HOT HOT HOT. With a little practice you can easily release all four batteries at once by turning upside down and pulling on each individual battery release all at the same time. Don't know if I'd ever need to to that or that I'd be in that much of a rush, but I did check it out that you can do it that way. This is one of the easiest loading / unloading battery chargers I have ever owned. UPDATE: 6/17/2021 I had only intended to use this for AA/AAA batteries. I have a security flashlight that takes a slightly larger battery. I've been searching high and low for the charger cable to no avail. It charged the batteries just fine for the most part. The prongs kept bending and any slight bending caused the batteries not to fully charge. It also didn’t last as long as other chargers around the same price.
