Excellent camera what it's designed for at an appropriate price point
I bought this camera as a means of replacing the camera on my smartphone. I personally hate smartphone cameras. Pictures might be okay, but when it comes to video - even the iPhone leaves a lot to be desired. I initially bought the new iPhone 11 (a $1500 purchase) for its video capabilities and triple cameras, but after a day-and-a-half I returned it. The cost of purchasing a pixel 3, coupled with this Canon g7x Mark 3 what's cheaper than the iPhone, and the camera on this blows any smartphone camera out of the water. I bought this camera recognizing a lot of folks had issues with autofocus, and overheating. I'm not one to listen to what folks say so I figured I'll see for myself. This camera performed wonderfully - if you know what you're getting in terms of technological limitations. For the price I got... 4K up to 10 minutes continuous (until you get the overheat symbol - after which you can switch down to 1080p) // I use this for vlogging. Personally, I believe if somebody has trouble communicating thoughts in under 10 minutes then perhaps they should take a moment and gather their thoughts before speaking, just saying. 120 FPS slow motion, as well as 60 fps - which to be honest is brilliant. Yes, if you continuously play back 120fps, then you will get the overheat symbol. But if you shoot in bursts like it should be used then it shouldn't be a problem. Microphone input for getting clean audio when vlogging! Time lapse video with manual controls! You have the ability to switch between Auto and manual. Wonderfully clear and articulating flippy screen. The autofocus works just fine, assuming you're not pushing it to extremes. If you go from focusing directly in front of the lens, and then try to focus to Infinity while you're stopped down to F 1.8 - then of course you're going to have issues. - especially on a system that's contrast based face detection. Use the autofocus like a normal human being that has some level of Competency with a camera and you'll be just fine. The firmware update did help quite a bit in terms of making it faster. And, that's pretty much all I need. Things I wish it did better would be the following.. I wish the camera sensor had better dynamic range. The whites tend to be blown out, or if the whites are fully exposed in a bright area then the dark tend to be very dark. But, in comparison to cell phone images it's more than good enough. I wish the custom ring on the lens could be map to focusing. If I could have manual focus and control using the ring instead of shutter or ISO - that would be awesome! And, if it had a cold shoe maybe on the side or the bottom. I have to buy a separate accessory bracket to get the cold shoe for my rode Wireless go microphone attachment. Other than that let's understand what this camera is not. It's not a Handycam. If you're looking to record boring dance recitals for your kid or family members that run on for an hour and no one will watch anyway, this is not the camera for you. This is not a filmmaking camera. You're not going to get all kinds of manual controls attached to every other dial with custom buttons, nor will you be able to record to a high-quality codec such as prores. This is the key difference between the Sony RX100 Mark 7 and this camera. The RX100 is basically a Sony a6400 in pocket size without an interchangeable lens. - but if I am looking for a filmmaking camera, I'm going to get a filmmaking camera - not an RX 100 (especially considering that camera goes for the same price as an a6400) I've been using this camera for over a month now and it has pretty much replaced any multimedia that my cell phone would do. I can transfer via Bluetooth any images I take right away. When it comes to transferring videos that I've shot onto my phone, I simply use an SD card dongle that I connect to my pixel 3 and literally just copy the files over. Do you want to see the stuff I've shot, and further review of this camera, YouTube search "belal Khan g7x" and you can see for yourself

Nothing Beats This Camera
Very good quality, I’ve been wanting it for a long time. Finally got my hands on it through the seller and I have not been disappointed. It comes in the box with the charger for the battery and you can log it into the Canyon website. In love with me camera

Great Camera for Vlogging and Everyday Use
I’ve been using this Canon G7X Mark III for a while now and it’s been a solid upgrade for my content. The video quality in 4K is sharp, and the colors look really true to life. It’s compact and easy to carry around, which makes it perfect for travel and everyday use. The flip screen is super handy when I’m recording myself, and the autofocus is fast, even when there’s movement. I’ve also taken plenty of photos with it, and the results are way better than what I was getting with my phone. The only downside is the battery life—it runs out pretty quick if you shoot a lot in 4K, but having an extra battery solves the problem. Overall, it’s a reliable and versatile camera that’s easy to use. 👍 Definitely recommend it for vlogging, trips, or anyone who wants high-quality video without carrying a big camera.

Amazing compact digital camera
Although I above market value for this camera, I do not regret my decision. I was tired of carrying around my large sony alpha but of course still wanted a good camera on hand to capture memories and such. I've loved how I can carry around this digital camera at all times in my purse. It take BEAUTIFUL photos and connect to bluetooth so that I can transfer the photos to my phone in seconds. I was initially afraid to order something this expensive from a third party instead of Best Buy or Canon themselves, but it was sold out for over a year and I just took the risk. If there were any issues, I knew I had a 30 day window to return it, but thankfully I never needed to do that.

Disappointed
11/20/19 Update: I returned the first Mark III. Then, they announced the firmware to "fix" the autofocus, and I decided to get the camera again. The new update gives you 2 choices for autofocus: Mode 1 (the "new" focusing update) and Mode 2 (the existing autofocus). The difference between the 2 is subtle, but Mode 1 is a little better, but not very good. Focus is soft and randomly loses the subject - even when its stationary on a tripod. I was really hoping that the update would fix the camera enough to be able to use it for vlogging and family travel movies, but it's still not capable of that. Returning it. Again. -------------------- Avoid this camera! Video autofocus, when it works, is horrible! Even if the focus box is around the subject it’s probably not in focus. 4k is a waste of time - it over heats in about 2-3mins. The 1080/30 looks ok, but (in my opinion) 25 fps in PAL mode looks much better (...completely baffled as to why Canon would drop 24 fps from their recent cameras...). It’s like Canon released a beta version of this camera instead of the finished product. I’ve had the Mark ii for several years, it’s still a great camera, and performs significantly better than the Mark iii.

Amazing
Perfect cam. Only thing is the lack of weather sealing. I took it to a trip to the caribbean and missed a couple of shots because it fogged up from the inside. Aside from that, I recommend.
