I make homemade journals and this is so easy to use. It is a great beginners kit and a kit for people that’s been doing it for years. It has a lot of thread. It has wax covered. Needles are perfect even has a container for the needles. It comes with a bone folder. Lots of items in the box. It’s easy to use great quality.

I’ve been learning Japanese bookbinding as a hobby and I wanted to have all the tools to make it easier. This set had everything required for a very reasonable price. I have been especially pleased with the paper drill, which is sharp and sturdy and has made punching holes according to the template so much easier. The bone folder is also very useful, and I appreciate the amount and colors of waxed thread and the different sized needles. I can’t speak as a professional, but as a beginning hobbyist, this set delivered exactly what I needed.

I bought this kit because I had just started making junk journals. It gives you a variety of needle sizes for small pamphlet journals to thick chipboard covers. And there is a variety of thread that comes in great colors. Its also a great starting point to get the feel of what you need for the journal making. And then to get a bone folder!! You couldn't get a better deal!! The only thing you will need to get more of is thread. Just to have the needles, the awl, the starter thread (and there is plenty) and the bone folder is more than great deal. I have made 8 journals and 5 pamphlet journals and have not run out of thread!! I would highly recommend this kit.

This is a nice little set of tools for beginners. If you’re just starting out, this has almost everything you need to start making books. The waxed thread is decent, and the included needles are a good size for most size books. The awl is OK- it gets the job done. Same for the plastic bone folders- they’re nothing special but work as expected. Overall, this is a great value and a good starter kit. Highly recommended if you are starting or getting back into bookbinding!

I've always wanted to try book-binding but never really knew how to go about it. After seeing an online tutorial, I quickly ordered this set of tools. I am so happy and so excited! For a beginner like me, this is perfect. It was reasonably priced, yet has all the necessary tools I could want. I've already started work on my first handmade journal, and I could not be happier! My granddaughter and I are planning to do bookbinding together to make larger journals and sketchbooks, and I plan to make a few as special gifts for people I care about. Again, I am so very happy that I found this set. If you've ever wanted to try bookbinding, this little kit is a great way to get started.

Had do much fun use it and does not feel cheap.It gets the job done.

Except for the “bones”

I am extremely satisfied with this starter book binder kit. It gave me everything I needed to bind some agendas I designed. The bones are definitely plastic and a bit weak. They could be slightly firmer and stronger. But, the awl is very sharp and very effective, and the needles are great too. The thread has a nice layer of wax, good colour variety, and lots of thread per spool. I will buy from this line of products again.

I made two handmade journals 240 pages each and I have to say the kit made the job more efficient. I really like the waxed thread that was included and the right needles that worked so well. The bone folders worked great. They are great quality. No complaints. Very happy.

Perfect starter kit. Easy to use and came with all I needed to start making notebooks. One folders are plastic but work great. Great variety of needles and thread. Highly recommend.
