Has a bad hiss, but I fixed it. OK Acoustic Sound.
First off, you may need to fix the high pitch hiss/buzz. I got rid of it two different ways. When I used a guitar with an active pickup, the hiss mostly disappeared. But this meant that I couldn't use many of my guitars. Then I tried a different power source. (Note: you need to power this pedal with a plug. No batteries can be used.) I purchased the recommended D'Adarrio 9volt, 0.8amp power source. This created the hiss, because when I used my Zoom 9volt, 300mA power source, the hiss was 99% gone. The plug that worked for me is the Zoom AD-0006D. I am not saying that I can precisely describe what a milliamp is, but going from 800mA plug to a to 300mA plug did the trick for me.As for the sound, using my Fender Acoustic200 amp, I could not get a good acoustic tone out of any of my humbucker guitars. And I really tried. The single coils on my strat and tele sound pretty good. Not as good as my Taylor or Takamine acoustics, but better than I expected from an electric guitar. I would describe the tone as useable and acoustic-like.

Its ok
Very small. that is ok. The tone controls function very well. Not sure I get an acoustic sound even after dialing it in. Its more like a mid-range expander pedal. Regardless, I will keep it. It does have some cool sounds. Don't forget the external power - it is not included.

Neat pedal. Amazing when combined with a fuzz pedal!
This was the cheapest acoustic modeler I could find. I didn't expect that it would make my electric guitar run through an amp actually sound like an acoustic guitar. The only thing that will make a guitar sound like an acoustic guitar is an acoustic guitar, plain and simple. But these pedals do produce a unique sound. The pedal tries to sound like an acoustic guitar and does a fair job at it, but if you really want an acousic sound, you just have to get an acoustic guitar. Like I said, the sound this pedal makes does do a good job of trying to sound acoustic and succeeds in coming up with a neat "woody" sound. In combination with other pedals, it can make some pretty fantastic sounds. I've mixed it with an octave pedal, chorus, phaser, etc. and they all sound really cool. The absolute best combo though was the Joyo JF-323 with my red Fuzzface. I was always a bit disappointed with the Fuzzface. It neveer really sounded "fuzzy" enough, like the fuzz pedals of the 60s, it mainly just sounded like a typical distortion pedal. But using the Fuzzface in combination with the Joyo acoustic modeler makes the Fuzzface totally come to life and sound exactly like I'd always wanted it to. The two pedals in conjunction make the best fuzz pedal sound I've ever heard in person, which is why I give this pedal a five star rating. By itself, it's pretty cool, I'd probably have given it 3 or 4 stars, but using it with other pedals, especially the Fuzz, makes it an invaluable addition to my pedal board. If you have a pedal board, I would highly suggest adding this little guy to it. You'll have a blast mixing and matching it with your various other pedals and will no doubt come up with some cool sounding stuff!

Excellent wood tone for an acoustic box guitar
First of all it’s hard to make a hollow wood guitar with built in pickup sound any good live for the average person who doesn’t have a lot of money and knowledge. Most acoustic electric guitars sound terrible through and amp or pa regardless of how much one pays. Buy let’s face it. Most folks don’t play live. About .005%. The rest dream. It’s not easy. It’s easy to dream. There are 3 distinct skills one needs to master to play guitar live. Not one. Most folks think learning to play a guitar is it. It’s not. 1-learn to play. 2-learn how live sound systems work(this will take just as long). 3- learn how to get a gig (good luck…)

Permanent Place on my Pedal Board.
You may not want to use this in the studio, and I don't claim that this pedal sounds like you're sitting in a room with someone playing a vintage Martin. Having said that, I constantly use this for my performances in cover bands and in orchestra pits for musicals. It has a small footprint, and it's easy to use. I feel no need to bring an acoustic guitar to the gig when I have this available.A few small quibbles: 1) The plastic cover for the controls doesn't stand up to heavy use: mine is cracked (keep in mind, however, that does not affect the functionality of the pedal.) 2) It's prone to a pronounced thump when you engage/disengage the pedal (that may have much to do with the quality of the electricity--I notice it in some venues, but not in others.) 3) Unless you crank the tone controls, the volume through this pedal is not as loud as the bypassed signal.I find this a great value for the price, and if you use it for strumming rather than picking, you can't go wrong.

Great product but limited application
works well, sounds great but I found it difficult to use with my active pickups. Hot output seems to cause input distortion, ruining the effect. In a studio situation, wouldn't be a big deal, but I found it difficult to use live. I wanted to be able to switch directly from acoustic "strumming" to overdriven leads. Didn't do so well for that. Still, there is a niche for this product.A word about the unit itself- it's built like a tank... is also a little smaller than they usual "micro" pedal. This IronMan series is well worth exploring.

Amazing tone!
This pedal is amazing! I get compliments every single show we play over my clean tone sound... I wasn't expecting such great quality for this price range but it is phenomenal. If you need an acoustic simulation pedal.... Look no further. I have tried about 4 different ones ranging from $200 down to this, which was the cheapest I have had... However, it's built like a tank, sounds amazing and saves space on my board. I have three Joyo pedals now and I love them all.... I keep two on my main board and I got another one of these on my small board. I won't play a show without it now!

Great except power.
It does give a nice woody sound. It even enhances the woody tone for acoustic instruments that have contact pickups. An on-board battery would make it perfect. This is obviously designed to be used as part of a pedal board with a distributed power source.

Happy man very windy on lead guitars with pickups
Lovely woody sound on lead guitars even better on electro acoustic guitar. Very much impressed, my mate has just bought one for his fretless bass.

Good value
Certainly doesn’t make your electric sound exactly like an acoustic, but it is a decent enough simulation. Pedal is nice and small, and definitely a good value for its price.

Great sounding stompbox
I was looking for a simple acoustic simulator stompbox without all the bells and whistles of, let's say, a Boss AC-3.This little thing delivers plenty. Simple controls, little real estate footprint and entirely noiseless. It will transform the output from a decent single coil axe - stay away from humbuckers, just saying - into a fairly convincing acoustic sound. It also adds some dimension to a cheap acoustic so, win win...
