A small but critical part...this one fits and works perfectly
A small but critical part...this one fits and works perfectly. Sometimes it's important to use OEM parts and sensors, but those can be pricey. Cheaper coolant temp sensors have proven to be reliable for me, so I went with an inexpensive sensor from a reputable aftermarket brand. Includes o-ring and retaining clip, which is a plus because the clip is easy to fumble and drop into the 'depths'. I keep several saved clips as spares in case I drop one.

Easy to install, perfect fit, comes with all that is needed
My 2003 Jetta 2.8l VR6 struggles with hot starts. Forums suggest that while the dash gage may read fine, the reading to the ECU is faulty and makes the car think it is cold and then prompts a cold start protocol. The engine seem to sputter on hot starts until you rev it a bit. We have months of cold weather ahead so time will tell if this fixes the issue, but this was an easy install. We removed the intake shift rod actuator to make it real easy to get this sensor. We pulled out the old one (make sure you get the old o-ring out), popped the new sensor with new o-ring in, put the new clip on and was good to go. We lost less than a cup of coolant. The Beck-Arnley is an OEM supplier and the price is superb and this was a 15 minute job from start to finish.

Bad fit, couldn’t use for my 04 Passat.
Terrible fit, couldn’t use on my 04 Passat v6 2.8. Used a different sensor from autozone and it fit first try.

Perfect fit...
Installation was easy and straight forward. Quality was 95 out of đź’Ż with the deduction being the plastic retaing clip. Feels extremely cheap and not durable compared to the OEM. But overall the main part works perfect.

Doesn’t fit. Too small. Blew out and left me stranded.
Seemed fine at first, after two weeks it blew out of the flange. Thought it was my fault until I put it back in with the OE clip and found it to wobble in the flange. Swapped it for the old sensor I replaced when I did the flange and all fit perfectly. Expected better from B/A.

Sensor ok, retainer clip broke
Super easy install in VW New Beetle. But the retainer clip broke so I had to reuse the old one. No issues other than that
