Gerber Crucial Black - Great tool
Read many reviews. Some real angry or just bad opinion. Just recieved mine and its great. hefty for a mid size multi tool. Sharp, sharp blade. few drops of blood. The whole tool is tight and works well. Not a full heavy duty tool. But a wonderful EDC and can handle many projects, didn't want a big and heavy tool with me all the time just one that can handle day to day and camping. No regrets. Quality is very good. Pliers are just that, pliers. They work. Screwdrivers are adequate. Philips is a little small but where that can't do it, the flat head will. The strap cutter is all that and more. Read thru the lines in reviews. The Crucial is what is is and not more. It has the essential tools for daily carry. It wont build a boat but its not for that. Very happy with purchase. another great piece of Gerber gear!
I'm a Gerber gear junkie; I have a Mossy Oak multi tool, had a Leatherman, and tried various no-brand multi tools over the years. They all had something to offer and served me well, but my go-to multi tool is Gerber. I probably didn't need this one, but I really liked the ergonomic design and strap-cutter feature in this. In my line of work, carrying a multi tool is essential and they've saved the day more than once. The Gerber Crucial lives up to its namesake in that you have 4 essential tools in a convenient carry package: knife with serrated edge, cross head and flat head driver, and strap cutter. You never know when you're going to have to slice away a strap, seat belt, or other piece of material and having this is another piece of Gerber security. I also love the pocket clip; I carry this tool on left pants pocket and Gerber parablade on my right. Also on my keychain is the Gerber Dime which also has its own unique features, so on any given duty day, I have 4 Gerber pieces on me and I have peace of mind knowing I'll always have the right tools on me when needed. Thanks again, Gerber Gear!

Light and a great value, not a perfect Skeletool replacement
I purchased this after losing my Leatherman Skeletool that I'd had for several years. I truly liked it, but the prices have gone up and it's not something that I absolutely needed so I decided to shop around. Here are the verbatim messages I sent to a friend that ended up also purchasing the Crucial.--- Initial impression messages on from June 2018:Similar to the Leatherman Skeletool in many ways: tools/blade are accessible from the closed position, belt clip, same types of tools, thumb opened knife blade.Differences include: knife blade shaped like a tanto instead of pointed, color coated handles, the carabiner/bottle opener is retractable, singles sizes on the screwdrivers. It is also noticeably thicker.Skeletool had a couple of points that were a bit sharp, this one is very smooth, no sharp edges when closed.I'll carry it for a while and let you know how usable it is. I do like the way the screwdrivers are done, they open and lock.If I don't find it as usable as the former, I'll most certainly keep it. It's a solid tool for sure. Usability is the only question, but it should be similar, I think.--- Impressions after owning for 3 months:I carry it everyday still. Since this multitool is thicker, I've noted that some of the pants I wear don't allow enough room in the front pocket opening to get my keys out as easily. One of the main uses of the blade is to smooth irregularities on my 3d prints. It cuts small bumps off PLA easily.I haven't found the screwdrivers quite as useful as the Skeletool. They are very short and with the handle being thicker and more blunt than the Skeletool, they can be used to access some smaller screws in things like PC cases.--- Final thoughts:All in all, for the price, I doubt it can be matched. It has the tools that I wanted, and no more. However, if the Skeletool had been the same price as I had gotten it for some years ago ($45), then I would have bought it. After having used it for 3 months, I believe I made the correct call.TLDR: If price doesn't matter or it's on sale for $40, buy the Skeletool. Buy the Crucial otherwise.Pros: good/usable tool, solid construction, light, good priceCons: a bit bulky, short screwdriver tools

Love it
All the tools you need. None of the tools you never use. Fits in your pocket like a pocket knife. Blade is nice and sturdy.Wish the belt clip held on tighter. Not sure how i feel about the blunted knife tip, but I’m not stabbing things so it does its job.The phillips bit is flat. I’m guessing this is to keep the unit slim. I wish it were a regular phillips bit, but i like how slim and compact this tool is, so I’ll deal with it.

Convenient Little Multitool
Every once in awhile I just have to write a review for a product. I saw this and tagged it on an order - on impulse really. However, since I have had it around I have found it so convenient and useful I now carry it everyday. This multitool is a first rate quality. The pliers are strong and so precise I have used them for tweezers . It the right size - big enough to be useful and small enough to be easy to carry. Personally I wear a wide leather belt and this tool clips easily and securely to it. That's another thing Gerber got right on this tool - THE CLIP. A lot of knives have clips but only a few function well. This one does. It not so tight you have to pry it apart to get it on. It's easy on and easy off - yet very secure. Admittedly this is a small bare bones tool but, those wonderful and "heavy" 17 function tools are of no use if you don't have it with you. I would like it better if it had a saw in place of the titanium clip, (which does double as a bottle opener).
