L'Oréal Paris Colorista Permanent Gel Hair Dye, Long-Lasting and Vibrant At-Home Hair Colour, High-Intensity Hues with Up to 3x More Shine, Colour: Silver Grey

This review is for Colorista Violet. This dye is simply amazing. I been using it for years since it appeared on the market. The name is “violet”, level 5 so it can go on hair level 3 to level 7 without having to bleach process. It’s a cold undertone and overtone and goes fantastic on pale skin with bright eyes. It looks just like in the box picture, if you apply it on natural hair colour. If you do it on previously bleached hair, it will go bit lighter (very cute dark pink). It’s very intense and so unique. Just in between red wine and purple. I cannot say enough how stunning this shade is. The shade couldn’t be reproduced by my hair stylist in the salon so this box dye is the only option. Some of the L’Oreal box dyes come in with a shampoo, the “Violet” doesn’t. I recommend to do use a shampoo after, because otherwise the hair will fall (probably due to huge amount of pigment in it will not allow the hair to breathe?). Covers greys with no issues. Max 10 minutes on previously died hair, and if you use only this colour then after 2-3 applications do a hair colour removal or it will go darker and darker. If you use Olaplex/K18 they will do alter the shade little bit (more red less blue in it). Also due to high intense pigment might leave colour on your pillow, towels, don’t worry it doesn’t stain fabric it will washout. Also as any other professional salon or box dye, all reds fade out pretty quickly so this is a high maintenance. I lately apply it very quickly (roots first then mids and ends total 6 minutes) every 3 weeks before the shower and keeps the colour highly vibrant and intense without the need to do the colour removal that often. The consistency is perfect, there’s not one single drop of dye around me. I apply it with the bottle long cap, in stripes, when all done massage and let the roots process, it takes only 3 minutes to apply. Then wait and distribute the rest of the hair dye on the remaining hair. Use it on a recently washed hair (one day before, as Loreal prefers clean rather than dirty greasy hair). Before you dye your hair, apply a layer of greasy cream around your hair line, forehead, ears, neck, because it will stain your skin until your first shower after the one you take when you dye hair. As well as, hot/warm water will open hair cuticles faster and strip off the pigment, for longer lasting use warm luke water if you can (or colder). Minimum shampoo on your scalp and not too much on hair also helps keeping colour vibrant. If you have pale skin and bright eye’s don’t use any dark makeup like all women do 🤦‍♀️ except the mascara. Use metalic/pearl (not glitter) cool shades of pink/purplish and shiny (off) white (on the white inside of your bottom eyelid and on your eyelid instead of eyeliner use white), use same pinks for your cheeks and you will look amazing. During hot summer do wet make up use your FP make skin shine then take your baby pink sweet moisturising lip gloss and apply it on your lips, cheeks and eyelids and you will look the freshest, youngest and sweetest ever. As for clothing colours to match the Colorista violet, everything white to black, everything pale pinks and others pale pastels, and silvery (not golden accessories). And the last thing, don’t assume all Loreal shades have the same result. Same brand but every shade is different quality. Violet is exceptional, light brown is very useful to tone brassy orangy tones after failed bleaching at home (due to the green hue), and the blonde tones are all very different depending on the current state of your hair when applied. 😉 Many thanks! ☺️

*please excuse my face*This is the second review I have done on this product after stupidly buying (I cannot spell this- which will become apparent) a swarzcopf hair curling kit which absolutely RUINED my hair.I should of known better. I HATE that brand and have for years, but anyway. THIS is Smokey grey. It is LUSH. Much better than the lighter grey and leaves the hair totally conditioned to the max. The last time I used this product (the previous review I've referred too) my hair was in GORGEOUS condition and shone so much. It was more metallic dark ISH silver than Smokey grey but as I said I ruined it myself SO this is application two after swarzcopf turned my hair GINGER and made most of it break and stick in my hair brush and it's gone way better than I expected.I would recommend all day long.The colour is gorgeous.The application so easy.The amount is VERY generous (even though I pile it on I still end up with 15/20% of dye left over).It comes with gloves that fit instead of big oversized good for nothing femidoms.AND it comes with a TUBE of conditioner that although says will do 3 washes, I actually got 5 out of my last one and it smells flipping delicious.It's that good that if you're not happy, never mind L,Oreal , I will give you a refund myself (lol joke) . But seriously, BUY THIS. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was looking for a long lasting colour with vibrancy and came across this gorgeous shade.You apply to dry, unwashed hair and there are two methods for applying. One is all over colour developing for 30 mins (for a new look), or root touch up followed by the rest of the hair after 20 minutes.I went for the all over application as I was changing my overall shade.What I noticed was how quick the colour took!The gloves weren't the best, but for what you pay for, this isn't a huge issue.As a gel consistency, it can still get quite messy, but not dripping type messy.However, this took seconds to wipe and nothing stained.My skin was bright pink (head, arms and shoulders lol). I was dreading spending the next two days with such a shade, but again, this wiped off so easily with no stains.Once the colour application was complete, I rinsed the dye.It's messy, but again don't worry, it won't stain.Rinse until that water is as clear as it'll go! :)By this stage my hair felt so squeaky.. Very odd I thought! In fact, I couldn't figure if conditioner could help this as it was like solid squeeky lol.Anyway, I went for it and used the conditioner provided. Instantly my hair felt AMAZING. There are no words. The squeekiness was gone, as was the heavy feeling.It was like putting moisture on a protein treatment.The smell of the conditioner is seriously divine. Smells like a real salon product.I still can't get over how good it was.My hair feels amazing!! Colour has taken so nicely too.
