Dies Prematurely
This unit has over 20% 1 star reviews. They are terrible. Mine died in 7 years and the replacement cost is about 2k. Total junk!

Breezaire WKCE 1060 very reliable
I replaced a 12-year old WKCE 1060 with a new one, and the transition was super smooth. The old one was totally reliable for a long time, and I'm looking forward to another 12 years of very reliable performance from the new one.

Three failures all under 5 year life.
Breezaire products are less expensive than others but are not worth installing. In 2004, I purchased two wine storage cabinets, both with WKCE 1060 units. One began to fail within 5 years. It had apparently lost refrigerant and began freezing up. Both units were replaced shortly thereafter with WKCE 2200 units on the theory that they were rated for higher BTU service and would last longer. Now one has failed at less than four (4) years. Same thing, loss of refrigerant and is freezing up. These operate in an air conditioned, clean environment. I also built a permanent wine cellar in 2009 and installed a WKE4000. This failed in 2014, short of its 5 year service date. So that is three failures, out of four units in four to five years. The remaining one still has 16 months to go. That is enough data for me. When you buy these, just know it is not a once in a lifetime purchase.

60 for 6
I naively assumed that these units would run for 15-20 years. Not so. My first Breezaire was a WKD-1060 that came installed in a Vonothèque wine cabinet. It lasted 6 years. I sent it to Breezaire for out-of-warranty repair, the cost of which was about half of a new unit. The repaired WKD-1060 lasted 6 more years. I think the reason it lasts this long is that I run it at a setpoint of 60 degrees F, my preferred "cellar temperature", rather than at the default 55 degrees F. I have now replaced the WKD-1060 with a WKCE-1060 which I suspect is the same unit with a digital temperature control and display. Let us see if this one will make it to 2022.

Cooling option for wine cabinets
Product works great and as advertised but vendor should provide option for power cord in back of unit not front for wine storage cabinets

Less than 24 months to failure
My Breezaire WKCE-1060 lasted less than 2 years before loosing reffigerant and beginning to freeze up. Currently having difficultly finding someone to come and service/repair the unit.
