Sleek Faucet Works Well, but Technology Aspect Needs Improvement.
Update:After using this faucet longer I need to add a couple things. I will probably add another Star, but I still feel the technology needs some improvement.Firstly, using the voice activation is great when I need to fill large containers, pots, etc w/water. Sure, it's a mouthful, but it's still handy. All I have to say to fill my pot is "Alexa, ask Kohler to dispense 3 qts (or however much I need at the time) of water." I find that this definitely is better than having to watch the pot filling w/water the whole time and the water dispensing is pretty accurate.Another thing I noticed is that a lot of steam will trigger the sensor. I found this out when I was pouring a pot of boiling water w/pasta into a colander into my sink. The rush of steam made the faucet come on. I quickly waved my hand under the arch to stop it, but this is important to know because you'll want to make sure the faucet is not aimed directly over the side of the sink you're using because it may start dispensing water (if/when the steam triggers the sensor) onto your food.I'm going to cover the Kohler Konnect app first thing. It is not very good. It doesn't play well w/others, meaning it doesn't really work that well w/Alexa. I have to say "Alexa, ask Kohler to turn on the water." This is silly. I should just be able to give Alexa the command to turn on my faucet. By the time I spit out whatever long phrase is needed, I could've gone and turned the water on myself. Like for example: "Alexa, ask Kohler to dispense 1 cup of water." I feel like I'm in a game of Simon Says (except it's Kohler Says) because if I forget to say "ask Kohler" when talking to Alexa then she can't do my command because she has to access the app.We thought we could set up routines w/Alexa to bypass this annoyance, but nope. The device isn't actually recognized on the Alexa app. It really can only be fully accessed through the crummy Kohler app.The app is annoying because it's one that you have to register with name, address, phone, etc. I'm not a fan of apps that require so much for registration. The installation is obviously more in depth than a standard faucet. There is a blue box that contains the electronic components (ie: the brain). This box has to be installed under the sink and fairly close to the leads from the faucet. There is not any mounting hardware included, so make sure you have some kind of screws and anchors if need be. There is a hose that connects to the box and it's not that long. There of course has to be an outlet as well. The cord is about 6' long, so we drilled a hole through the bottom of our sink cabinet and wired an outlet box in the ceiling of the basement nearby.Once the faucet is installed, don't hook up the final hose yet. The lines need to be purged. DON'T skip the purging step. The water comes out cloudy for awhile as we purged it. They obviously treated the lines w/something and they definitely need to be purged. The faucet has a hands-free sensor, but this will only work if the faucet is left in the 'ON' position while I'm working in the kitchen. It's recommended to not leave the faucet in the on position for long periods of time. A little LED light will light up when you use the sensor while the water is running. The sensor is located under the arch of the faucet. Simply turn water on to desired temperature and then wave your hand under the arch to turn off. Now it's in a standby mode and can be turned on w/the sensor or activated by Alexa asking Kohler. The faucet can be commanded to dispense certain amounts of water, but no less than 1 cup (8oz). If you want to have it fill by ½ cup increments, than you have to specify that in ounces. Example: "Alexa, ask Kohler to dispense 12 ounces (for 1 ½ cups) of water." The faucet will dispense cups, quarts, etc. There is a flow guage connected to the blue "brain" box, so it can measure how much water is flowing through. Water usage can also can be checked on the Kohler Konnect app.The faucet/sprayer hose works well and the design is sleek. I really do like the hands-free sensor for turning the water on/off. It comes in handy when my hands are a mess. I use the sensor most of the time and hardly use the "Konnect" feature through Alexa because unfortunately the technology needs more work.

Fill my pot hands free? Bring it on!! Like all new technology little learning curve but worth it
I had to hire a professional to install this faucet since it needs power source. We had to figure out the power outlet which became complicated because we have concrete walls. We ended up doing extra work and adding power line through the back of the cabinets but it was totally worth it. Power is needed for electronic part of the faucet which is where all the magic is happening. It’s a small computer box you need to plug in near the faucet.Controlling the faucet comes through app. You need to download the Kohler konnect app to be able to tell Alexa to “ask Kohler to pour 3 cups of water” Also, for voice control you need to turn on the faucet. If the faucet is not turned on it will not “hear” voice commands. It is recommended not to leave it “on” for long periods of time. Siri can turn it on or off but that’s all Siri can do. I hope to be able to give Siri more controls in future but Alexa does the job well too. It’s just the matter of adjustment. I was getting frustrated until I learned how to properly give Alexa order. I love not having to stand by the sink and wait and measure how much water, you would think it’s the small convenience but it actually makes a lot of difference. Touch-less sensor is awesome and works perfectly. I love that I can turn it off when my toddler starts thinking he should play with the faucet. Well not so soon little buddy! LOL There is a small light indicator showing the faucet is on. I love smart home and I am really enjoying little conveniences like this faucet or having my lights controlled. For those who want top of the line smart home kitchen faucet this one is amazing. It looks modern and sleek and it performs well. The app will also show your water usage and detect leaks! The price tag is hefty but I really can’t hold it against the rating because that’s what happens with all newly invented things, they are expensive until the market becomes more saturated. Also, let’s not forget Kohler is top of the line.

This is an amazing faucet
I have, in the past year or so, embraced the smart home situation and this is the most current addition to my smart home. I am truly impressed with all that this can do - talking to Alexa about my kitchen faucet is funny, but cool. Asking Alexa to have it fill my pot 2/3rds full is really cool. Touchless so that when I'm making bread and my fingers are sticky with bits of dough on them, I don't have to get the faucet dirty and then clean it later - all I have to do is wash my hands and again, not touch it, but turn off the faucet. This is an expensive item, but you have to think about the relative function of an item and considering certain situations, say a family with three or more kids, this would be perfect to add so that the kids will not have to touch the faucet to wash hands, get a drink of water and in that way, transfer less germs to one another. That's just one good reason - there are several which make this a good idea even at this price point.

Smart house things
Love the way it looks and the smart touch sensor is really cool too, it's one of those things you don't really need but it's a posh little thing you can show off to your friends with and then everyone spends time talking about and playing with a faucet for the next 15 minutes. But the install was super simple and I have a few friends who have done a bit of plumbing in their lifetime so if I needed help they told me the support line is extremely helpful with walking you through any questions or concerns you may run into
